Jan-18-11  wordfunph: i lost 2k in pick3, Giri was the culprit.. :)
Jan-18-11  technical draw: Does anyone know what "Discard Losing Tickets" mean? It keeps popping up after the events.

Aaaaaarrrrrgggghhhhh!!!!

chancho: <TD> Bwaahaahahahaha. I think you already have my vote for this year's Caissars.
Jan-18-11  technical draw: Darn, the loanshark is pretty cheap this year. All I can get is $100. That's chump change for a high roller like me. C'mon loanshark, you know me, I'm with him....
Jan-19-11  Maatalkko: I can't believe Carlsen pays less than even money to win Wijk. There is no way he is that much a favorite.

WannaBe: <Maatalkko> That is a good indication on how much the members here knows about handicapping/chess!!
Jan-19-11  Brettwith2ts: Hey, I'll give good odds to anyone betting for Car;sen <sic> in round 5. ;)

Does anyone else have this problem?

Jan-23-11  4tmac: Pick Three : Draw-White-White [info] 169 LIVE BET 10:1 10.64 1,798 Jan-22-11 Hi buddy! How's my favorite ChessBookie doing these days?

  WannaBe: Carlsen-Naka 1-0, gooooooooooodbye chess bucks... =(
Jan-24-11  Maatalkko: I still can't get over how overbet Carlsen is to win Tata. I have thousands of hours' experience at poker and horse racing, and this one of the most absurd odds I've ever seen. Coming to think of it, I don't even think Kasparov circa 1999 was worth 5/6:1 in a top-level 14 player tournament. Perhaps Fischer or Paul Morphy were. I know it's probably jsut some dude with $20K betting the house, but I still find this amusing.

P.S. Don't take my chessbucks balance as an indication of my gambling skills. I've been illogically betting MVL to win each round, except the ones he won in.

Jan-24-11  4tmac: Some of the 29 people with 10000 CB may not have the time to play day to day and will just put all their money on someone to win at the last minute, raising the probability of Carlsen from 40% to 53+%(!). Kasparov in his prime (c.1990+) could have supported such odds.
Jan-27-11  technical draw: <4tmac> Yes those $10,000 players that have not made a bet are tied for 12th place. Some last minute heavy betting (and some luck) could propel them to first-third so the leaders better beware.
Jan-27-11  4tmac: You're right TD, they didn't all put their bucks on Carsen, so some might do pretty well. Then again, the ones that *did*, well....better luck next time!
Jan-28-11  truefriends: For the Tata round 13 betting:

The Hao-Naka game has the header of the pick 3.

The pick 3 has no header.

The Giri-Pono game has no header, and no bets.

Jan-30-11  Graf Zeppelin: <Tata Steel (Group A): Winner : Nakamura [info] 200 LIVE BET 24:1 25.07 5,014 Jan-30-11>

+5K for me... solo first for Naka!

Feb-01-11  wordfunph: <CG Bookie> much thanks for the Gibraltar!
Feb-08-11  bharatiy: hi are we betting on aeroflot? that will be nice if we can, how else we will catch those 10000 start up guys?
Feb-08-11  wordfunph: last but not out of the race, i see a glimpse of $$$ at the end of bookie tunnel.. :-)

Mar-01-11  technical draw: What's going on here? Midas Touch is first and Touch of Knight is second. Do you see a pattern here? What's with all this touchy feely? Maybe I'll change my name to touchnical draw and grab third place.
Mar-01-11  wordfunph: <TD> no touch please, let's enjoy our holidays in the cellar.. :-)
Mar-01-11  technical draw: <wordfunph> We have to get in TOUCH with a Vegas bookmaker and maybe if we tell him a sad story it will TOUCH his heart and he'll give us some pointers. I'll get in TOUCH with you later.
Mar-01-11  wordfunph: <TD> i was so touched, pity we need to touch a Vegas bookmaker to touch our touchy chessbucks..
Mar-01-11  4tmac: Touché...but Bookie is no soft touch....congrats <Word> on wrapping up the "cellar award" already! :)
Mar-01-11  wordfunph: <4touchmac> thanks, it's an honor.. :)
