May-07-11  wordfunph: no round 4 betting yet? hmmmm...<CGB> may be watching the Pacquiao-Mosley fight.. :)
May-10-11  technical draw: When the candidates match bets are paid off I should be back in at least the top 5. (At 3,000+...)
May-10-11  technical draw: Forget the above. I miscalculated. Only made it to 2,300+.. Maybe just good enough for 9th.
May-10-11  TheFocus: <TD> Nlus now you owe a $20 fine for miscalculating.

Send it to me for processing. Check or money order will do.

May-10-11  wordfunph: i lost 500 on levon.. :(
May-11-11  shalgo: Curious that Kamsky is at 9-1 to win the whole thing while Gelfand is at 20-1, yet the betting now shows Gelfand to be the strong favorite in their match. Did Gelfand really impress more than Kamsky in the first round?

SwitchingQuylthulg: <shalgo> Well, the market hasn't yet entirely swallowed <wallytherhino>'s huge bet on Gelfand; other than that, people still remember Candidates Match: Gelfand vs Kamsky (2007) and the ugly beating Kamsky got that time.
May-12-11  wordfunph: <wally> is pulling away with $7,927

time to pause and pay a sort of compliment to the #1 bookie top gun, his profile says..

I love the attacking game and especially when it is a subtle attack. my favorite modern players are anand/morozevich/kasparov/topalov/nisipeanu and I also love the games of fischer/lange. I like to take initiave and then push for the win and this has helped me win in a normally drawn position. Chess is a hobby and I have fun playing dynamic positions and tactical firefights with my side or both sides having attacking possibilities because I can moves and win most of the time.

go <wallythe>! :-)

May-14-11  technical draw: Hey bookie, you made a mistake. Kramnik/Grishuk was UNDER 40 (25). I got ripped off!!

  SwitchingQuylthulg: Nice try <TD> :-)
May-14-11  technical draw: What do you mean 'nice try' Switch? This is the game:

Grischuk vs Kramnik, 2011

Clearly 25 moves is under 40.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <TD> Keep this stuff up and I'll give you my vote this year for only $19.95!
May-14-11  hms123: <TD> Kramnik vs Grischuk, 2011 is not Grischuk vs Kramnik, 2011
May-14-11  technical draw: Thanks <switch> <hms123>. I should never have bet in this confusing round.
May-15-11  wordfunph: <FIDE Candidates Rd 2.4
Kramnik-Grischuk MIDGAME BETTING>

great! thanks <CGB>..

May-15-11  technical draw: "The wages of draws are a sin"...That's why I don't bet on draws. And that's why I'm out 250 cb's and out of the leaderboard.
May-17-11  Beholder: When will the semifinals bets be paid?
May-17-11  technical draw: <When will the semifinals bets be paid?>

How about just canceling all the semi final bets and saving me a grand?

May-17-11  bharatiy: even I need that money to pay off Loanshark. For no good reason I have to pay interest!
May-17-11  wordfunph: <When will the semifinals bets be paid?>

May-17-11 and it is now May-18-11 9:02 a.m. here in the Philippines.

ohhh, it's still May-17-11 in the US of A :)

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> Look, pay out all the semifinal bets as soon as possible, OK? <wallytherhino> has major bucks tied up in them - do you really want to anger a rhino?

Chnebelgrind: It seems that <wallytherhino> is just tempting his fate with another huge bet on Gelfand.

SwitchingQuylthulg: Well, he knows it will probably take well over 20K to win, so why not make a few more kilobucks now he seems to have plenty of momentum? (It's not even as if he's out of money to bet on individual games. Well, unless <Bookie> persists in not paying out the semis...)
May-19-11  wordfunph: <Chnebel> i believe so.. :)
May-19-11  wordfunph: hmmmm...$3,600 loan by <wally> for Gelfy?

may we hear from <wally> please? :)
