Jan-09-14  ChessWriter: This is it, baby! Another championship leg. Good luck to all.
Jan-09-14  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: <Stonehenge> You have a very good idea, the numbers need abit of tweeking though, finishing 10th should get more chessbucks than the non-qualifiers. Also, for multi qualifiers, instead of adding the separate finishes just take the highest finish only. This way they still have a reason to bet once inside the top ten. This last leg nobody in the top ten bet the last two rounds ('basque' and Karpov Timman). Additionally, a top ten here should not qualify for next years championship. The qualifying should come from just the first 3 legs of the season.

Yes, they get an *extra* 1,000 in the Winter Leg.

moronovich: CouldnĀ“t we please have a Pick 3 for the rounds to come !?
Jan-12-14  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: One guess for who dropped the Caruana bomb in Tata:Winner.

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Bookie> Tata Steel rd 4: PICK THREE currently features three round 3 games... the same ones, in fact, as the round 3 pick three.

Chessgames Bookie: Ooops, we'll issue refunds and make a right one shortly.

SwitchingQuylthulg: It now features three round 5 games and no actual options are offered. One more attempt, perhaps? ;-)

Sneaky: Man, I can't pick a winner to save my life. I just threw away 6 losing tickets all from the same round. Could you do that bad if you tried?

Well, at least I got my pick three's. One lucky shot and I'll be back in the game.

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

Jan-18-14  AnimusEtOblivio: Dang, <Absentee> is already at 32k? I think I forgot how intense this championship leg is.

Time to kick things into high gear!

Jan-21-14  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: The qualifiers' party on the leaderboard has been crashed by a Buttinski!

Sneaky: <Tata Steel rd 5: PICK THREE : White-Black-White [cash in ticket] 25 YOU WIN! COLLECT 872 34:1>

Finally I get lucky! Too bad it was chump change.

Jan-26-14  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: Another van Wely pick three miracle, that's pretty wily of him. I won't be fooled the next time.

Chessgames Bookie: The Zurich: WINNER (overall) bet is for the 5 round single-round-robin classical.

I've been informed that the blitz games today will be used as a tiebreaker for the classical rounds, so you might want to see how that finishes up before placing your wagers.

Jan-29-14  dakgootje: Hi mister chessbookie sir!

Will the 3 daily Zurich games be supplemented with Gibraltar games, for additional excitement and entertainment for all between the ages of 8 and 88 in this <Super World Bowl Final Ultimate Leg of Betting Prowess (#8)>?

Chessgames Bookie: <dakgooteje> We will throw in some Gibraltar bets if possible, but in Swiss events there's a narrow window available where we can get the next day's pairings and post the bets.

Meanwhile I am refreshing http://www.zurich-cc.com/pairings.h... every 10 seconds to see what the pairings are for the first round of Zurich.

Jan-29-14  dakgootje: Ah yes, fair enough.

In any case, the Gibraltar pairings are always up fairly early at

http://chess-results.com/tnr120746....

Jan-30-14  abhishikt: Pick-3 of round-2 lists wrong pairings.
Jan-30-14  Nightranger: Pick 3 for round 2 has the pairings wrong

Chessgames Bookie: My mistake! I just refunded all bets and put this one up as a replacement:

Zurich rd 2: DAILY DOUBLE

Jan-31-14  SoUnwiseTheKnight B4: Don't drop the Gibraltar games just because Zurich is in full swing, that's making it too easy for the dude in first place. Put up Gibraltar games!
Feb-03-14  Touch of Knight: <Bookie> Note that the rapid games start 2 hours earlier than did the classical games

  Chnebelgrind: Gibraltar WINNER:
Vitiugov also came to 8 points like Ivanchuk and Cheparinov. See http://www.chess-results.com/tnr120... and was playing the play-off.

Shouldn't the "OTHER"-ticket pay than?
