Sep-07-15  MarkFinan: Google Chrome banned Java? Well firstly.. What did he do? Last time he threw Han Solo into the pit of Carcoon, so GC could be banther fodder before you can say "Fred's no Jedi". Lol.

As long as Nirvana doesn't have a <nightmare> I should be clear of the negative balance, give the loanshark a quick "These aren't the cb's you're looking for. Go about your business" handwave, and I'll see you back on the Death Star people.

Btw Syd. Thanks for answering me about Google Chrome.

Sep-07-15  sydbarrett: Fred was just a phantom menace
You can return the favour by helping me defeat Dark Emperor Chnebelgrind and his companion Quaghog
Sep-07-15  MarkFinan: The force is too strong. Only the 2 of us together can defeat Emperor Chnebly. He has the power to stop the one you love from..... dying!

Just be careful. I don't want to find you in a black Robot suit with limbs missing, alongside him calling him Master.

Lol.

Sep-07-15  sydbarrett: I think I can take on him. I'll use xtra caution. Ty for your concern.

Penguincw: Wait what? The game still hasn't started yet. And I've closed the bet 7 hours early...

Sorry guys, I've been really busy with work and all. I was supposed to release the other pre-tournament bets today, but just felt too lazy...

Sep-07-15  MarkFinan: Pengerz.. I need to email Daniel or something. I had 1900 in funds, went to pay the loanshark 868 (which would have taken my debt to a certain amount) and hit the button accidentally paying all my funds, now I have no funds and can't get a loan! I need to speak to him about something else anyway, I can't really explain here.

Alright, then good ahead and do that. :)

But there's an option to pay back all your loan? :P

Sep-08-15  sydbarrett: If you post more computer chess matches I would bet on it. I went to the chatroom for the computer chess fights for a bit today and learned about that world. I trolled a bit but most sensible people there liked me. It was cool. I also learned that Nirvana was named after Buddhism. Buddhism is cool, but I thought it was named after the band Nirvana

Can you do it today then please?

Sep-08-15  MarkFinan: Just as I'd clawed back 1500 cb's! I bet big on that one. Anyway Frederick, you're just Emperor Chnebls'y limbless robot. When I arrive on the Death Star in December confront you I will.

Alright, I will do that later today (I've said that the last 2 days). Any suggestions (I <might> use them)?

Sep-08-15  MarkFinan: I'd like to see a P6 personally. I'd say the same if I was 1st, it's all about playing the game (which I couldn't for a week) and enjoying it, a P6 is more luck oriented so the leaderboard would change constantly. Okay maybe not constantly but it would have surprises instead of the same people placing top 10 constantly. Just mix it up a bit, throw a firework in there, Pengerz. Lol.

Really? Pick Six. Firstly, if you want the "classical" P6 (ex. WDWDBB), that's 729 options. I'm not sure if it can even handle that much.

Of course, I can always be like "Kramnik and 2 other winners".

For the World Cup, I'm going to have a Pick 4 for rather the quartefinals, G2 or the semifinals. Haven't decided which one. I may include another one as well.

Sep-08-15  sydbarrett: If you ask me no one would get the right answer in p6. Only the Chosen One can.

Agreed. The only way to ensure getting it is put 1 cbs on every line, but that's like 700+ lines.

Sep-08-15  sydbarrett: re: So-So Result 2
"eliminated"?
What exactly is the World cup format? Elimination format, like baseball playoffs and tennis opens? If so, can I see the bracket?

Yes, 128 players, single elimination, like those sports. The bracket can be viewed on Wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chess....

(I swear, it's so hard coming up with good ideas on the spot)

Sep-08-15  sydbarrett: I don't kno what past legs by other bookies have been like but I think most of your ideas have been good. First moves are cool and so is betting on robots

Thanks (most :p ). First move bets and betting on robots has been done before.

Occasionally, a bookie would make a bet like "What is black's first move?", but I think I'm the only one that does it often. However, I believe I created bets such as World Junior Championship Rd 7: Ali - Cori and the history bet (ex. On this date in history, blah blah), and anything else that doesn't make sense/is confusing is probably my idea. :)

SwitchingQuylthulg: <Penguincw> Summer 2014 had at least one bet of the 0-1/OTHER type. (Whether <that> was the first such bet, I'm not sure, but I wouldn't bet on it.)

Pure history bets are your invention I think, though very similar things (special bets on notable people's birthdays, special bets on holidays etc.) have been done before.

great we have Ben Stein running the leg.

Sep-09-15  MarkFinan: pitapino.. You know this site, you only just joined and you're on the leaderbord. You're fooling no one.
Sep-09-15  MarkFinan: I can't even find todays games on chess24! Pengerz are you around?
Sep-09-15  MarkFinan: If there's no games today why did the betting shut so early??
