Mar-23-12  WinKing: Well if that's true <SwitchingQuylthulg> then our chessbucks should just be refunded. Who knows when the match will take place then.
Mar-23-12  technical draw: Beware of <wallytherhino>. He's dangerous in the stretch and he has a real gambler's name.

Penguincw: Still losing! I guess I will take a break next round, and just see what will happen.
Mar-23-12  brankat: <Penguincw> When one is on a break, usually nothing happens :-)
Mar-24-12  dakgootje: heyhey - thanks for the amount of picks the last couple of days!

Note that the pay-out date of two bets today isn't correct: Jones-Vit and Lenic-Nai. Shouldn't matter too much I suppose - but just in case :)

  Penguincw: I would've gained 52 chessbucks. :(
Mar-24-12  wordfunph: round 5: lost 2k :(
Mar-24-12  brankat: <wordfunph> Well, I guess You'll just have to work harder, and longer hours for a while. Make sure Your wife doesn't know the financial situation :-)
Mar-25-12  technical draw: Yikes! The revenge of <dakgootje>!
Mar-25-12  dakgootje: It's nothing personal my dear td - I simply have to catch luckyswitch and you happened to be in the way. Collateral damage and all that ;)

Chessgames Bookie: It's starting to look like we'll have to refund the Mecking-Granda bets, but I sure wish we could find some official statement about it, somewhere.

Penguincw: We have 'till April 1st to find out the winner. Also, do you know who put up the bet?

I guess it was too good to be true.

Mecking vs Granda Match: WINNER : Mecking [info] 50 LIVE BET 4:1 5.23 261 Mar-18-12

<Mecking vs Granda Match 2012

It is possible I got the details of this match wrong or it was cancelled as I couldn't find any mention of it anywhere.>

That's according to The Week in Chess and Mark Crowther, who (as I'm sure you know) is usually an excellent source for tournament results.

I say refund the bets. I'll find a better way to bet my money!

Mar-25-12  wordfunph: 6th Round: DDB :(

lost $800 <loanshark> gave me, harhar! :)

<CGB> how 'bout P4 in the last 3 rounds.

Mar-25-12  WinKing: <Chessgames Bookie> I believe tomorrow (Monday 4/26/12) is a rest day for the European Individual Championship. You might want to extend the betting another 24hrs for Round 7.
Mar-26-12  wordfunph: <WinKing> that means additional $1,600 loan --- enough to splurge on P3 :)

nothing to lose, everything to gain.

Mar-26-12  WinKing: <wordfunph: nothing to lose, everything to gain.>

Yeah if the <Chessgames Bookie> is kind enough to extend the betting it might make for a good size pot in the P3. :)

Penguincw: Isn't today a rest day? If so, how come the bets are closing in 2 minutes?
Mar-26-12  WinKing: The betting windows have been reopened - Place your bets.
Mar-27-12  wordfunph: $1,600 on board, thanks to generous <loanshark>.

bookie friends, goodluck!

Mar-27-12  WinKing: Over 76k chessbucks wagered in Rnd.7 on just 4 events - not too bad. With only 4 Rnds. left till the end of our season I suspect the pace will pick up a bit from here on out.
Mar-27-12  dakgootje: <Over 76k chessbucks wagered in Rnd.7 on just 4 events - not too bad>

And apparently SQ took most of them ;)

Besides becoming world-champion, he apparently aims to set a new Chessbucks-record.
