 | | Penguincw: Uh oh, that's not good.
BCC/HZ: Department of Energy
Emms-Ward is currently stuck on move 11! Who knows how long this game is actually? I honestly don't want to refund bets, but I may have to. I'll have to wait though. |
|
| Aug-04-15 | | MarkFinan: I didn't understand that bet at all. I still bet on it because no one else really did, but I seriously had no idea what I was betting on! Lol. |

 | | Penguincw: < Mark: I didn't understand that bet at all. I still bet on it because no one else really did, but I seriously had no idea what I was betting on! Lol. > Me neither. ;) Anyway, a lot of bets have a lot of words simply because I'm anything but concise. :p I usually include a lot because they rather need a lot of words to explain or I need to include a lot of fine print. But basically that bets is just asking for you to predict the longest game. Today's bet (BCC/HZ: Hoover eclipses Adams) is asking for the shortest game. That's it, I'm not joking.
As for the "Department of Energy" bet, it may not be settled for a while. Luckily there's only like a total of 400 cbs on it, so I doubt anyone put all their money on it. |

 | | FSR: Van Wely beat van Foreest. Too bad: I would have made a fortune if it had turned out vice versa. |
|
Aug-04-15
 | | FSR: Not much energy today. It appears to me that Williams-Hebden, at 79 moves, wins by a country mile (35 moves) over the competition. Too bad that the game a few boards down, Scott-Jackson (139 moves, a R+B v. R ending won by the side with the extra bishop) wasn't part of the bet. |

 | | Penguincw: So nice of chess24 to conceal the results of the BCC game, Board 5. That would be the 2nd longest game that round, that tournament. Unfortunately, I don't think the BCC is going to be cooperative with the pairings, as they're going to wait until I get off <cg>, and <then> reveal the pairings (same for the HZ tournament). Honestly, if I'm reading the times correctly, the organizers are releasing it at like 2 in the morning! Who does that benefit? Not me, or any organizers for sure (but I guess some people don't need sleep). I've been trying to put in bets with "placeholders", but it's not the same. Organizers these days... |

 | | FSR: <For purposes of this bet, only the top 4 boards for R9 of the British Chess Championship and R6 of the HZ Chess Tournament will count. ... If there is a tie between 2 or more games, all lines between tied games will pay, unless there is a 10-way tie, in which all bets will be refunded.> Given that there are only eight games involved in the bet, you needn't worry about a 10-way tie. |

| Aug-04-15 | | sydbarrett: I made several bids in the 100s today. 700 or so total. I was following the results of my bets on my cellphone during my humdrum day at work... First the 300 I put on "YES" in the Blackout bet fell. I felt betrayed. An hour later I saw that all my bets failed. None of the bids gave me back money. My feelings are hurt. I wish I never saw your website Chessbookie... The pain I feel... I will be silent for weeks now... |

If I may offer some advice, remember tip #5 on the ChessBookie Game Help Page. < 5. Don't let a streak of bad-luck mess with your mind. The greatest gamblers in the world go on losing streaks just like the rest of us. > Although it's still your choice if you want to continue playing. |

| Aug-05-15 | | greed and death: <penguincw: Honestly, if I'm reading the times correctly, the organizers are releasing it at like 2 in the morning!> To be fair, if its 2 am in Toronto that's something like 7 or 8 in the morning UK time, so it's not that absurd, especially since the games appear to start mid-afternoon UK time. |
|
| Aug-05-15 | | landogriffin: @ChessBookie <With that in mind, does anyone know a better site for it than http://ruchess.ru/en/?> not really, but found this for what it's worth: http://www.chessdom.com/russian-sup... |

For personal reasons, I'd like them to release it earlier. It would benefit everyone involved. :) <landogriffin>
Well, thanks anyway. :) I think it's pretty clear who the participants are, so I'll put up a "WINNER" bet. |

| Aug-07-15 | | MarkFinan: Tell me about it. I had a good few hundred on that game. I thought I may have a saving grace, but I've noticed one thing. Ever since Pengerz became the bookie I've been flopping lol Pele on his wedding night, lol. |
|
| Aug-07-15 | | MarkFinan: Without showing you my winning tickets (I still only have 1800+)you can imagine how much I lost on the others. I had two 250 and one 150 ticket lose. If I hadn't got really lucky with what must have been an unexpected result, I'd be around the 500 cb's mark. |

 | | Chessgames Bookie: ♔ ANNOUNCEMENT ♔
A (somewhat) important announcement folks. According to this article (http://ruchess.ru/en/news/all/super...), the Russian Superfinal will have 1 rest day: Saturday, August 15th. If that's the case, then that day will be Pay Day (which happens to be the same day as Pay Day, <last> Summer Leg)! I'm still awaiting more information, so all of this still has yet to be confirmed, but I'm pretty sure it's nice to know. In related news, I'm not sure where I'll find results for the tournament (preferably a chess-results site), but I did find one for the Riga Open. - Penguin |

 | | FSR: Moradiabadi, Elshan vs Jobava, Baadur [0-1]
Krasenkow, Michal vs Landa, Konstantin [1/2-1/2]
Werle, Jan vs Wan, Yunguo [1/2-1/2]
Ernst, Sipke vs Van Foreest, Jorden [0-1] |
|
| Aug-08-15 | | MarkFinan: I'm back in the top ten once that table has been updated, Fred. I'm stepping up my bookie game (and nookie, lol) I've just been stuck in first gear due to gearbox issues. I'll win this leg, well I'll come 2nd because we know switch has this game mastered. |
