Oct-13-15  sydbarrett: Hou pulled a magic win out of a dead locked drawn position. I watched it live. She set a trap. Amazing stuff. Show me the money!!!

Wow, good job guys!

< 20. Penguincw 1,032 >

First time in over 3 months I've had an overall profit (+32).

Oct-13-15  sydbarrett: Thanks. Using very different style so far this leg. I was conservative last time. I just throw all my money down on the table pretty much every night this time, ha ha. See ya tomorrow.

Sneaky: I came to collect my ENORMOUS winnings on my Grischuk ticket. Then it occurred to me ... I bet on him for the rapid, not the blitz.

Harrumph.

Oct-14-15  sydbarrett: Hahaha sucker. Not everyone can bet as great as MEEEEee. Nice try though!
Oct-15-15  MarkFinan: I missed the betting today, I completely forgot! Anyway well done Syd-B. Flying at the moment, definitely a rival for Switch.
Oct-15-15  sydbarrett: I had a bad feeling about the bets I placed last night. But not betting was not an answer...
Oct-15-15  MarkFinan: Only just realised that Annie's the new bookie! Anyway, is there any games being played tomorrow we can bet on, Annie? I don't even know if this female tournament is over, I haven't really been paying much attention to it.

Annie K.: Hi <Mark>! :) Nope, this tournament is over, there'll be no action until the 18th, when the European Club Cup starts. So we have a couple of days off, but I'll put up a few general bets for the Club Cup early - today or tomorrow.

Annie K.: ...on second thought... I think there's a TCEC (computer chess) event going on too. I'll check it out later, and probably put up bets for that too.
Oct-15-15  MarkFinan: That would be great if you could please Annie. I completely forgot about today.
Oct-15-15  sydbarrett: Yes TCEC I like. Thank you Bookie.
Oct-16-15  greed and death: BTW, if you accidentally double-click the "-- Place Bet --" button when making a bet, it counts the bet twice (i.e. two 50-c$ bets instead of one 50-c$ bet), doubling your bet.

Is this is a known bug?

Oct-16-15  sydbarrett: yea... don't click too much, just once. happened a lot to me before.

Perhaps the bug is in the hand of the beholder.

Oct-16-15  wallytherhino: I just experienced the duplicate bet error.
Oct-16-15  sydbarrett: especially if your connection is lagging... don't click too much... take a tip from a pro, hehe

Penguincw: <Bookie>, for European Club Cup 2015: First Move as White - Kramnik and/or European Club Cup 2015: First Move as White - Topalov, if either play doesn't have their first white until R2, will that bet be re-opened?
Oct-17-15

Annie K.: <Penguin> No. The bet closes at the start of the tournament, and gets paid off whenever the players get around to playing White for the first time, probably by Round 2 at the latest.
Oct-17-15  sydbarrett: Can someone explain the format of the European Chess Club Cup please. All I can gather so far is that maybe there are about 7 games total per team. What are the time controls? How do the teams work? Do teammates help each other select moves, or does each member have a solo game without assistance?
Oct-17-15  sydbarrett: i'm hungry I think I'm gonna open one of the cans of King Oscar sardines that Amazon sent me. They are still the best canned sardines that I know of
Oct-19-15  MarkFinan: <<Do teammates help each other select moves>, or does each member have a solo game without assistance?>>

Have you even played a game of chess before, Sydney? Lol. No! You can't be on board 6 asking board 1 for tips, haha. It doesn't work like that mate.

Oct-19-15  sydbarrett: Lol thanks for the tip Mark. I'm a modern man, I play exclusively online. Oh man I woke up too late to bet. Not bragging, but see at least an easy $1000 I could have made, sigh...

Penguincw: Trivia: Yesterday (October 18th), for the first time since June 29th, had no posts posted on this forum, ending a streak of 110 consecutive days, with at least one kibitz posted.
Oct-19-15  sydbarrett: Annie told me to be quiet :(, or else I would have tried to find something to talk about, hehehehehe
