Jan-17-16  WinKing: My votes for Helpful & Post:

I vote for <Penguincw> for Most Helpful.

I vote for <Stevie King> The Kibitzer's Café for Best Post.

Jan-17-16  MarkFinan: I'm voting for <harry lime> for most helpful! And I can't believe Trav jonesed his way to an award! Next time I'm starting my campaign early, lol.
Jan-17-16  MarkFinan: <If this isn't fixed, I will complain to the Admins.> The awards are fixed every single year. I don't suppose they'll change the rules now mate.
Jan-17-16  TheFocus: <Mark> It is interesting that whoever is running the Caissars has no intention of giving an explanation.
Jan-17-16  Party Animal: <Karposian> Clown boy I didn't vote for myself!
Jan-17-16  Party Animal: <The Caissars: <I nominate <Diceman> for funniest poster.> Although coming in a few hours after the cutoff, we decided to let that nomination stand. Good luck to the Diceman.>

What a bunch of B.S.!! I get Steve Harveyed but this particular user gets special priviledges??

JFQ voted for me late an is not excepted but Diceman's nomination late is excepted???

P.S. I like Diceman & hope he wins but this sites election process is like Russia's!!

Jan-17-16  Karposian: <Party Animal: <Karposian> Clown boy I didn't vote for myself!>

LOL. I know that your post were only a campaign ad, you made that clear to <FSR> earlier, my point is that <The Caissars> may mistakenly have counted it as a vote for your avatar.

Anyway, <YouRang> is the rightful winner, as both you and I know. I commend you for your last-ditch campaign effort, though :)

Penguincw: Look at this post: The Caissars chessforum (kibitz #1473).

< NOTE: To vote, please make a post and use the word "vote" in your post and use "gold text" around the username. For example, "I vote for <ChessNut> for best username." would be exemplary. (We have software that helps us count, and if you format it that way it makes our job easier.) >

Apparently, they use software to count, so perhaps someone's vote was accidentally counted.

< Party Animal: Vote Best Username & Best Avatar, PARTY ANIMAL!!! ; P >

The Caissars chessforum (kibitz #1815)

Not in gold text, but I guess it still counts.

Really confusing to find out what happened. Perhaps the site can give an answer?

In the meantime guys, let's just focus on the voting for today and tomorrow, and perhaps discuss things more on the Rest Day (Tuesday).

Also, from now on, in this forum, I'm going to use quotation marks instead of gold brackets, unless I'm voting.

I REFUSE to focus on voting for today and tomorrow.

I REFUSE to wait until the "rest day".

I REFUSE to use quotation marks instead of gold brackets.

I REFUSE to calm down or carry on.

I WANT ANSWERS!!

Jan-17-16  YouRang: Proud to be involved with an election-related scandal, joining an elite group that includes G.W. Bush, Al Gore, Ferdinand Marcos, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, and ... oh, never mind.

LOL. I'd like to see the punchcards needed to add up seven votes. Is it a bit like ENIAC? Humming away 24/7 clickety-clack clickety-clack clickety-clack.

Jan-17-16  zanzibar: <AnnieK> - Most Helpful <StevieK> - Best Post

Good crop of candidates for both categories.

So you are changing the rules of the game?>

There are exceptions to every rule. Clearly, <cg.com> agree that I'm exceptional.

Jan-17-16  zanzibar: <MissS> we all agree on that!
Jan-17-16  Karposian: Using software to count these votes doesn't make much sense. There are not that many votes, it doesn't take long to sift through the posts and make a manual count. It took me only a couple of minutes to find out who had won.
Jan-17-16  zanzibar: Dang nab - I plum forgot to use vote.

Why can't <CG> just have a poll feature like so many other blogs have?

(smf, wordpress, etc)

Penguincw: Don't get me wrong, I want answers too, but probably best just to vote as normal 'till they give an official answer.

I'm going to email them to see what they reply.

Back in the day (when <nikolaas> and later <WannaBe> ran the Caissars) votes were counted manually, and official miscounts still happened. Also, the vote count has been much higher at times; almost sixty users voted for Best Analyst in 2010.

Good Lord!! My eight year old nephew could count it for you. He is very good with a pencil and paper.
