 | | WannaBe: For some reason, this movie looks to be really funny http://movies.yahoo.com/movie/18097... Then again, maybe it's just because Christopher Walken is in it... Big fan of his. |

|
| Jul-31-07 | | chesstoplay: I'm leaving for the USCF delegates meetings Weds. AM. Tim and I are taking the same flight together there and back. The vote is over.
Top three are 4 year terms.
Polgar 3004
Bauer 2325
Truong 2056
Berry 2026
Berry is not asking for a recount and is taking the 2 year term to finish up for Tanner. It should be an interesting time.
I don't currently think I'll be going to Mexico either. But let me know just in case I can change my plans.

| Jul-31-07 | | suenteus po 147: <WannaBe> Cool plate. I thought for sure you would go for 2KE2 also known as the WannaBe Gambit! |
|
Jul-31-07
 | | WannaBe: <suenteus po 147> Now, NOBODY would understand that one... California offers a variety of symbols for the licence plate, and the <+> is the only one that's chess related... |
|
| Jul-31-07 | | NakoSonorense: I liked the license plate frame. =p So, you drive a Mustang. Is it a GT? |
|
Jul-31-07
 | | WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> No, it's a v6, keeps me out of trouble with the law, plus the GT v8 is way expensive on the insurance and sucks up too much gas. (But it is a convertible =) |
|
Jul-31-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Very cool <MannBee>. Can I have <official> permission to put it on the back of the <What Would <<<MannBee>>> Do?> T-shirts I'm going to sell? See, it kind of answers the question... |

Jul-31-07
 | | WannaBe: <NakoSonorense> Errrr... I've had the car for 3+ years, and nothing yet, but it does blow the smokes from my cigarettes out, and my car don't stink. Plus it blows my hair dry every morning! (I do not own a traditional hair dryer. =) |

| Aug-01-07 | | meloncio: Hey WannaBe, is it true that in California you can't drive faster than 55 mph (90 kph)? A friend of mine told me so, but I can't believe it. BTW, nice plate! |
|
Aug-01-07
 | | WannaBe: <meloncio> Thanks, here is the story on speed limit, which is an Odd Lie!! During the gas shortage way back in the '70s speed limit was set at 55 miles per hour, and that was pretty much in all 48 states, Nevada and Montana did not have speed limits. About 7 or 8 years ago, congress raised the speed limit to 65 on all freeways, and 70 on all big interstates. Since gas was cheap, and cars are built better with more safety features. However, no one ever hardly follow these rules, and police usually don't stop you, unless you are going over 10 mph over the limit. I've done 70 in 65 mph zone, and 80 in 70 mph zone, and never gotten a ticket. In some smaller roads, speed limit is still 55, but no one ever follow that either. According to articles I've read, studies have shown that for each 5 mph over 55, you are using more gas to push the vehicle, and 55 mph is the optimal speed/gas usage. |
|
| Aug-01-07 | | NakoSonorense: There are some states in which the speed limit is over 70. At least this is the case in Arizona, where it is 75. That means that you can easily drive from 85 to 90 mph without getting a ticket. I haven't gotten one yet... Hope I can keep it that way, but the road is soooo boring (only desert sand all over the place) that all you want to do is arrive at your destination as fast as possible. |
|
| Aug-01-07 | | NakoSonorense: If you convert those speeds from mph to kph, it makes you feel as if you were driving a Ferrari =p 85 mph = 137 kph
90 mph = 145 kph |
|
Aug-01-07
 | | jessicafischerqueen: Fast cars require fast women to sit in them as well, no? Just wondering. My car is SLOW. |
|
| Aug-01-07 | | NakoSonorense: Yes, on the copilot seat. |
