WannaBe: LAD will start Snell and Yamamoto for Games 1 and 2 (Same against MIL), so I guess/think Glasnow and Ohtani for 3 and 4 at home. https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id... Last starts was Oct 13th (Snell) and 14th (Yamamoto, CG). Hopefully there isn't "rust, and time off" curse.

WannaBe: <keypusher> One doth wonder, if the Million man and then woman march had the (opposite) affect on their cause. (Maybe much like how BLM have, with their own corruption and how Blue have avoided mentioning BLM)

WannaBe: Observed something weird. Using W11, Chrome Version 141.0.7390.108 (Official Build) (64-bit) the divide line between kibitz'n are some normal thin-ness, while others are randomly a bit thicker. Not a big deal, just want to comment on this. (both regular mode and incog mode)

WannaBe: Oh just some case that a magistrate judge let someone avoid jail in MD... Never heard the term of MJ before (No, not Michael Jordan), and from my Google search, it can vary from state to state. (Sorry, did not know you had responded weeks ago... Apologies. And much thanks, too)

  WannaBe: Computer search engine technology...

Go to a search site, I don't care which one, and find out the following:

1) Can the president of U.S. in a case of (absolute) emergency, order the launch of nuclear missle without congressional declaration of war.

2) Who is the first vice president of U.S. that is not 'fully' white. Clue, he is part Indian, or Native-American...

3) The last American League baseball team to have a black player, and the last National League baseball team to have a black player on the team. (This one is easy...)

Search engine... Ha! I hope Watson from IBM can vastly improve this area of technology (research)...

  WannaBe: http://www.slate.com/id/2223478/?ya...

When I was assigning passwords to fellow employees (I was in charge of the server, scary thought... =) I often pick a random game here, and randomly select a number higher than 20 (that's where the move tree really diverge...) And select a move, usually with capture.

So someone at work might get 28.Bxg3+ or something like 49.Nexf3 as their password. Confuses the crap out of them... :-))

(As soon as he perfects it...)

Jul-27-09  RonB52734: I did notice that none of them produced nice and straightforward hits, but then, doing database searches is a big part of my day job.

Jul-29-09  NakoSonorense: There's an Organic Food grocery store no more than two blocks from where I live. One day I was feeling a little lazy and went there instead of Ralphs to get milk. I walked around the store like 3 times and couldn't find the milk! I asked one of the clerks "Where's the milk? I can't find it anywhere!" He gave me a weird look and walked away. I've never set foot in there again...

Anyway, here's a milk article.

WannaBe: Another search engine pet peeve...

http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php...

That is done, within Wiki's own dialog box, within their own page.

This is what I achieved, via google, by typing in the same key words: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Scotla...

Go fig...

WannaBe: While doing research on 'Flower of Scotland', I came across this little video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_Qi...

It took them long enough to get the 'video-taper' undrunk enough to get him/her upright!! :-)

WannaBe: Okay, this is pretty neat, 700 of them... Wonder how much alcohol it took to get them there!!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2hZU...

If that's not enough, here is 1,000 of them (Ignore the dumb-azz questions being asked, ruining the music...): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyKH...

Here is the best one!! 10,000 of them!!! (Ignore the newsreporter's talk-over...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c1gg...

WannaBe: This, is very a very interesting interpretation of Rhapsody in Blue, done in 1981, Basel, Switzerland...

The cafe, is eeriely similiar to Nighthawks, later turned/adapted to Boulevard of Broken Dreams, but note, the two main performers are female, while all others are male.

You can see the subtle underlying tones and tension (especially when they are packing their instruments away...) but it is very, very well done.

My only complaint, is that it's broken up in two parts... =(

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-coc...

Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YlSV...

Jul-31-09  technical draw: <WannaBe> Can you lend me your collection of Zamfir and his Pan Flute CD's? Thanks.

  WannaBe: <technical draw> No bloody &^%% way!!!

(Since I don't own any Zamfir and Pan flute CDs....

But you can borrow my complete DVD of bagpipers of Scotland & Ireland, with men showing off their legs and thigh high socks!!)

Jul-31-09  technical draw: Hey, thanks <WannaBe> For that link to Rhapsody in Blue. Fantastic! I didn't even think it was possible to play that on the harmonica. Man that kid is good!

WannaBe: <technical draw> Check out the part I, II, on the link (previous)... And see if you agree with my comments.

I think R.i.B. is probably <THE> best piece ever written!

Aug-01-09  technical draw: Fantastic music <WannaBe>. And great video (gay banjo player and all). Amazing scenes. Gershwin's music always makes me think of New York City.
