WannaBe: Another not important thing that I noticed, as a premium member when I visit ChessGames.com Statistics Page page, I see ads. Not that a big deal. Sure CG.com have more important things to fix.

Jan-11-12  harrylime: Hey .. Talisker is the man ! .. or better still Highland Park ( Orkneys)

Moving on ! lol

Jan-11-12  harrylime: The historian vote is tough .. really tough .. So many good and enriching posters up there..

I'm going with <JessicaFischerqueen> because of all her research and information she has enriched this site with .. and me too ..

The handle vote is maybe easier.. between Moronovich and Nemesistic..

Ill go <Nemesistic>

Jan-11-12  dzechiel: I would like to cast these votes:

Best historian: <crawfb5>

Best handle: <Phony Benoni>

Domdaniel: Since the Caissar Academy Organization doesn't have a *giant randomizing machine* like the one CG use for picking a move when the vote is tied in a World-vs-GM game ... it may be necessary some day to go back to ancient methods.

Flipping a coin? Pulling a Rabbit out of a Hat? Pulling a Habit out of a Rat? Hmmm...

I nominate the Hat worn by <hms123>'s avatar, if a Hat is needed. You want a coin, ask Arno Nickel.

My votes will follow later ... keep up the good work and treat yersel' to the odd wee dram o' Glenwabbit.

Greetings from Tabanus the Googler.

Jan-11-12  harrylime: < Once: Historian: Phony Benoni

Handle: Darth Stapler>

I've never seen or come across Darth Stapler ? But fair enough.. it's all in the handle.

Jan-11-12  Once: <harrylime> I can heartily commend his work to you. A POTD semi-regular of astonishing brevity and conciseness. He quickly gets to the heart of a position, the crux of a problem, the very nub of an issue. I know of no-one else who can achieve so much in so few words.

For many years, his posts followed a familiar pattern. Which amongst have not thrilled to see such gems as these?

"I got it"

or the classic...

"I didn't get it."

Some days when I have posted early and then left for work before most of the kibitzers have clocked in, a burning question has stayed with me all through the pen-pushing toils and travails. Did Darth get it today?

This is Zen kibitzing, minimalist commenting, atomic blogging. It reduces all this noise and detail to the essential issue, the core of what we are all about. Did you get the puzzle or didn't you?

Like Dirty Harry asking if you feel lucky, Darth is continually asking if you got it. Well, didja, punk?

And that, for me, makes him a prime candidate for a caissar.
