Mar-10-12  brankat: <WannaBe> Since You're a History buff, I'm sure You'll find Mr.Shirer's work fascinating.

During the critical years of the story (1929-1940) he lived and worked in Paris and Berlin, and offers a lot of first hand accounts as recorded in his contemporary diaries of those years. Brilliant literary style, too.

I read the book a few times over the years, and although Mr.Shirer was not a historian by profession, I find this to be one of the best books ever written on the topic.

Enjoy it!

WannaBe: <brankat> Yes, I knew that going in, and it is often refreshing to read something not written by a 'historian'. I read one-half of Van Gogh, http://www.amazon.com/Van-Gogh-Life... and it was B-O-R-I-N-G. Almost cried, because it was so boring.

Tons of fascinating material, but the 2 co-authors chose to present it in the most lecture-esque and driest, monotone style possible. How you can do it in monotone in print is beyond me, but them 2 did it.

This one, is going way faster, and much smoother in the flow and the story. Another reason I like to read Simon Winchester, when he is not writing on rock and geology. (Which is what Simon got his degree in, he does it almost as bad as watching paint dry. All his other subjects that he writes are great!)

WannaBe: So, I visited the CG.com forum, and there was this 15 point thesis written/posted by CG.com. I can get the gist of the post, and what is going on.

But I'm gonna clean/clear out my ignore list just so I can get to the tooth, the whole tooth and nothing but the tooth.

Mar-16-12  Nemesistic: When you've finished talking to yourself rabbit, all in gud tyme !!

Dont get sloppy with your spelling, or someone might relentlessly take the piss.. And you certainly *art* (lol?) built to deal with that.. You've only just popped your head out yer goddarn hole after 4 month cos you saw opportunity to x ass, plus you think safety in numbers, right? Wrong.

And dont think im picking on you cos you're tasty in a pie lol

WannaBe: Again, it's Wabbit, very fine line of distinction there.

Please, do let let me know when you change your name.

No, I watch my spelling and grammar very carefully, since all the kids at school teased me with my Chinese-English. I've learned to appreciate proper-ness.

If you need to use the Water Closet, it's the second door on the right.

Yes, you do seem bored. Your local library may have some nice literature to help you with that.

Mar-16-12  Nemesistic: Well i had summat else in mind rabbit
Mar-16-12  Nemesistic: Come out rabbit, i haven't even defrosted you yet and im getting hungry.. Id normally pass on dicing up a soft little animal, but iv got a feeling im gonna enjoy it this time...

Your just another idiot, when your by yourself you've got nothing to say, you hang round with that other doilum tipsy, and you x ass totally forgetting that your the paying customer.. Do you not have any idea how ridiculous that sounds in business?

Like i say, another idiot..

Mar-16-12  Nemesistic: Poor little rabbit, i were really looking forward to that taste, you know that taste where when you can't really describe what the meat tastes like so you just say "kind of like chicken"... Ironic that.

And i only got an E for effort in Chinese-English.

And im not interested one little bit how poor your family were/are, i were on about my background here dipstick.. I know your not a hare, but keep up rabbit.;)

One more thing, iv'e got nothing to do for two week because of my current whereabouts but i am relentless...... If i WannaBe!

You should post another one of your games to review and study, as the purpose of this site is learning from players stronger than yourself, while guiding those who are weaker.

Have a great weekend!

Remember this one has a death wish.

Mar-16-12  Nemesistic: Tipsy, if your talking to me then you're not a stronger player! Iv'e just been through one of your *tourney* games (not some game where your just trying out ideas and futzing about), and even though he was a stronger player than you, you played a6 and h6 within your first 8 moves like a true rabbit with no tactical ideas..so you lost before you made your first move you were that scared... Just like a schoolboy patzer.. Its true!

I'll give you my annotations soon and i'll be *brutally* honest..;)

But thats what this sites for, right? Learning from better players than yourself ;)
