WannaBe: <perfidious> Hehheheh I was in on of those pools, number of years; lots of fun, only 5 bux/week to enter, no one gets 'hurts'. And the house/bar buys you a beer when you participate. (They know you will sit there for just a 'few' more cold ones) Now, those elimination pools on

WannaBe: We are gonna get flatten'd by Florida. Never had any luck/competition against them Gators in the past decade or two.

I am afraid it will be a repeat of Wisc-Baylor game, with the Bruins coming out on the wrong end.

Mar-28-14  NakoSonorense: <We are gonna get flatten'd by Florida.>

It got really close in the 2nd half. I thought the Bruins were going to pull it off... Alas, didn't happen.

Mar-28-14  Jim Bartle: The heck with the game. What is it with the uniforms? UCLA wears powder blue classic uniforms, no exceptions.

WannaBe: <JB> That was our Road/Dark/Alternate/Warm up unis...
Mar-28-14  Jim Bartle: I saw a photo from the game, UCLA was wearing dark blue jerseys, with sleeves!

The highlight of basketball when I was in college was the UCLA game, Alcindor or Walton or Wilkes in those powder blue uniforms.

Mar-28-14  Jim Bartle: My freshman year I saw Alcindor playing in his <senior> year. Now there's a time that's definitely changed.

WannaBe: Wow, 1969... I was -2 years old.
Mar-28-14  Jim Bartle: Too bad you never saw the 1968 UCLA team then. Just unreal, steamrolled everybody, except that one game against Houston when Kareem had a scratched cornea (scratched by a Cal player who had been the star at my high school's big rival).

Apr-04-14  technical draw: And the curse of the declined draw strikes again! I offered player <albekof> (friends of Baku) a draw when we had just queens and a few pawns. He declined. And the next move he made he checked me on a square protected by my queen. Game over!
