Jun-19-16  Jim Bartle: Chicama? Three small hotels, $15 or so, seafood lunch, $6. Only tourists about a dozen surfers. Five mile long beach almost empty, two mile long waves, perfect break.

Jun-19-16  Jim Bartle: Waves at Chicama: http://briancampagna.com/wp-content...

These break smoothly to the right for at least a mile.

<In Northwestern Peru, the waters off the coast of Chicama hold one of the greatest waves on earth for riders of all abilities. This epically long left is well off the beaten path, but worth the journey.

When the swell reaches 6 feet, you can find yourself on a wave nearly 2 miles long. Though these conditions are rare, you will find amazingly long rides year-round even when Chicama’s sections do not all link together. The Point is the most famous, and gives riders a chance to play on waves nearly a mile long. The wave can be fast and hollow, so you’re not guaranteed to keep up with the face, but it sure is fun to try. Be sure to check the surf report as smaller waves tend to lack the necessary power.>

WannaBe: <JB> So, I'm just dinkin' around and for sheets and giggles, SFO <-> LIM round trip, $600 USD.

That's quite a bargain! Considering if I want to fly to Reno for a quick get-away, round trip is about half that amount!

Go fig.

Las Vegas will have about 1.5 years to get its ducks in order.

Penguincw: Happy 4th of July <WannaBe>.

How was the COL-LAD game?

Blue Jays were good yesterday. :D Only 5 games this season had 17+ runs scored by one team, 3 in the last 48 hours.

Toronto will host the Royals for the first time since the ALCS. I'm surprised Toronto is hosting it. The way I see it, on the 4th of July, Toronto should always play on the road to ensure that 15 <American> teams get to host the 4th of July, not 14 American and 1 Canadian. Of course, Blue Jays don't always play at home on July 1st.
