WannaBe: I have covered this before. Both zero and cap o should be accepted. Please see Wiki article

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cas...

Another reason I still use Chess Viewer Deluxe Deuce.

Aug-16-18  zanzibar: Well, the wiki page does say this:

<in PGN, O-O and O-O-O are used instead>

Don't blame me <WannaBe>, I didn't write the standard. (And I think FIDE actually says the number should be used somewhere or another for some reason).

If I were writing software, I would accept both, but output the conforming notation.

But that's just how I roll.

WannaBe: Besides the fact that CVD II can handle both and not choke. I also like the moves layout on the right side in a score sheet format.

Much easier to read and in a real life format.

Aug-16-18  zanzibar: <WannaBe> pgn4web also handles both formats, as mentioned above.

(Just for point of fact).

WannaBe: Don't like moves on the bottom and I have to look/search for specific move number. =)

With CVD II, it is on the right, and forty moves on first page, evenly divided. Very easy to find a specific move and also move variations, too.

Aug-17-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: When do we find out who's gonna boot Big Pawn and the rest of his retarded ilk from the site? People are starting to leave and there's less people renewing their memberships. It's not even a fine line between hate speech and freedom of speech, it's just ridiculous that someone with a severe mental illness is allowed to post what he does. So who's in charge and when will all this be sorted out?
Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: <Dr Winston OBoogie: When do we find out who's gonna boot Big Pawn and the rest of his retarded ilk from the site? >

If <Daniel> would have booted you, he might still be alive today, minus all the stress you overloaded him with.

I'm not going anywhere and no one can boot me out. The new admins would get sick of that pretty quick, especially with all the flame wars it would start from other posters who don't like the censorship even if they hate me.

Eventually, <Winston> will be told to sod off and use the ignore button. And that goes for the rest of you snowflake, butthurt libs.

Aug-17-18  thegoodanarchist: <it's just ridiculous that someone with a severe mental illness is allowed to post what he does>

Oh, I thought this was an autobiographical post...

Tabanus: Auto-deletion: one of the new and interesting admin tools. It works roughly like this: <WARNING. This post contains the words <sick, flame, war, hate, sod, ignore, butthurt>, which are on the Bad Words List and exceeds our limit for one post. If you push the Post Kibitz button now, it will not be posted.>

Tabanus: The function can also remove posts on an e. g. daily basis, by counting the number of "bad words" from one member over his/her say last 10 posts. It works because serious offenders tend to use bad words often, while those posting about chess usually don't. Does this scare anyone?
Aug-17-18  TheFocus: <Tabanus: The function can also remove posts on an e. g. daily basis, by counting the number of "bad words" from one member over his/her say last 10 posts. It works because serious offenders tend to use bad words often, while those posting about chess usually don't.>

Censorship. Those words or the number of times someone uses them, is not a violation of any of the Posting Guidelines. How many Premium Members do you think that will attract or influence to stay?

<Does this scare anyone?>

Only that someone might take your suggestion seriously.

Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: < The function can also remove posts on an e. g. daily basis, by counting the number of "bad words>

Sounds good as long as the correct bad words are identified. Here's some:

diversity
egalitarianism
hate speech
multicultural
multiculturalism
fetus
global warming denier
transsexual
misogyny
patriarchy
white privilege
homophobia
homophobic
islamophobic
a woman's right
undocumented
solstice
gentrification
zionism
colonialism

That looks about right to me. Let's get this in place right away.

Tabanus: Producing a Bad Words List of words that do not belong on a chess web site cannot be too hard. There are the swear words (see lists on the web), and I could add e. g. "leftard", "libs", "rightard", etc.. Plus, new words can be added, depending on how the kibitzing goes. Censorship? It's fine with me.
Aug-17-18  TheFocus: <Dr Winston OBoogie: <When do we find out who's gonna boot Big Pawn and the rest of his retarded ilk from the site? People are starting to leave and there's less people renewing their memberships.>

People are not leaving because of <Big Pawn> or anyone else on this site. Some of the ones who have left have given a reason; none of their reasons mentioned <Big Pawn> or anyone else as causing them to leave. Do you think they were leaving in droves when Daniel was alive?

But now that Daniel is dead, people just decide that they can't stand <Big Pawn>'s posts, so instead of putting him on Ignore, they would instead just leave the site?

That is ridiculous.

As for why people are not renewing their memberships, such as me, it is because we are waiting to see if the ship sinks or floats. I'm not tossing money to something that the new owner is going to shut down right away.

But when a new owner is announced, and I see what changes may happen, and they decide to continue the site, then I will renew.

Tabanus: <People are not leaving because of <Big Pawn> or anyone else on this site.>

I don't know much about US politics but I think you are wrong. To me it seems that 80% or more of the posters here now belong to Trump or the right side of US politics. Am I ringt? I think <White pawn>'s posts already have had an effect, and that many democrats (and I'm sorry to say, many people from other countries) have left during the last few years for exactly this reason.

When anything is allowed, anything can happen. It could have gone the opposite way, with lots of Bernie supporters here. But with a new deal, perhaps we can return to chess.

Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: <I think <White pawn>'s posts already have had an effect, and that many democrats (and I'm sorry to say, many people from other countries) have left during the last few years for exactly this reason>

That's good, isn't it? After all, you don't want this website to be a magnet for intolerant people, do you?

heh heh heh

Lib, I'm going to crush you.

Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: This self imposed exodus is a good thing. That way there will be more harmony here. The ones that left can start a new website that they would be more comfortable with. Something that makes them feel cozy.

Say, phagchess.com

If that domain is taken, then how about antifachess.com?

Tabanus: I'm not liberal, if that's what you mean. What does "lib" mean in the US? To me it seems "libs" are everything from the far left to the far right. For the lack of political parties? I happen to know that <Daniel> was on the right side of the Libertarian Party, that he supported Ron Paul.
Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: <Tab Anus: What does "lib" mean in the US?>

A lib generally supports these positions:

The Liberal Platform (the pillars of liberalism)

Sodomy
Abortion
Divorce
Anti-Christian
Anti-God
Anti-White
Anti-Man
Anti-American
Gun Cucks
Pro-Feminism
Wife wears the pants

Tabanus: Well, that list tells more about you than it tells about the "libs". Perhaps you should return to your employees now, and let them have their salary.

Thanks for today.

  jessicafischerqueen:

<takchess> It is the "default" Olga Chess Viewer that is causing the problem.

If you reset the viewer to "pgn4web" all of the moves will display.

Also, if you "view" the pgn or download the pgn, it is still intact.

Aug-17-18  Dr Winston OBoogie: <Tabanus> I thank God you're just speaking to him and not copy and pasting his garbage before replying, that's where the ignore feature doesn't work but I must say this. This has <nothing> to do with political preferences and <everything> to do with his obvious mental illness. Don't take my word for it just read his posts for yourself, he's a <crazier> Alex Jones and the only platform that'll currently put up with his hate filled rhetoric is Chessgames dot com...a <chess site!>. And yes people are leaving because of him.
Aug-17-18  Big Pawn: <Tabanus: Well, that list tells more about you than it tells about the "libs". >

No, you misunderstand. These are positions that <libs> generally support, not me.

If you check Obama, Hillary, Gore, Pelosi and other libs on these issues, you will see that they clearly support them.

Now you know what a lib is.

Now stop talking about non chess topics on this page, or else I will have to come back here and straighten you out.
