I agree! This is the <Chessgames member support forum!> All i see are comments that have nothing to do with member support whatsoever! Take it to the Kibitzers cafe or something.

WannaBe: <Check It Out: <Wannabe> thank you for the detail on the password situation. What is your conclusion?>

Unfortunately, I don't have a solid answer, it happened to two members, from the posts that I read, potentially, there <COULD> be another link besides CG.com

Without more details, my answer would be "I don't know..."

Check It Out: <Wannabe> ok, got it.

Another interesting thing just occured: I am automatically signed in on my android cel, even after the password change. On my iPad, though, I have not signed in and have been reading the site that way. Just now, I fired up my iPad to find that I am now signed on, even though I did not enter my new password. What is that about?

Annie K.: <WannaBe> what you report is nothing new. If you're logged in, you stay logged in, even if you changed your password - as long as you don't log out or clear your cookies. In these cases, you'd have to give your new password when trying to log back in. It was always like that.

<CIO> I don't know what to make of your report. Any chance that you may have signed in on your iPad last time you visited the site with it and forgot?

<Jess> thanks, what you are doing is useful.

  WannaBe: <Check It Out>

Re: <Annie K.> comment, good possibility/point, how certain are you that you never signed on with iPad(?)

Now, it is rather hard to see the cookie on my phone, but I can try to sign in using another browser (e.g. FireFox) close FF, and change the password in IE, then compare the two cookies. (Maybe later today, or tomorrow...)

I know, that when you log out, it clears the cookie. (as <Annie K.> explained) Or you manually delete it.

If you change password on one device, but not the other, and second device can still be recognized as signed-in; then it tells me once your login is validated, the same number/text string is used on (all) devices.

So, now the question is, how did the password got exposed? There is a thing called "Man in the Middle" attack.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Man-i...

Or possibly malware key-logger. Again, without details I really can't say anything... =((

Aug-18-18  Boomie: <jessicafischerqueen>

Thanks for posting a Todo list. I suggest posting it at the same time every day or so. Perhaps others will also post lists.

Aug-18-18  Pyke: I know things are not like they used to be, never will be again, but I'd like to know that things are going on:

Threrefore, can we please have a forum, tournament page for the <Sinquefield Cup>, Rapid, Blitz and the proper classical one?

Lots of quality chess and good coverage. But I want to replay the games at my home at chessgames.com.

Aug-18-18  rogge: I guess they would, if they could.
Aug-18-18  Pyke: Well, if patience is needed, patience is what <chessgames.com> will get!
Aug-18-18  ChessHigherCat: <TGA>:
No, I have NOT been <flame warring>. I've been speaking up against <zanzibar>, <CHC> and <O'Boogie> trying to get <BP> banned.

That is not flame warring. <This> is flame warring:

< ChessHigherCat: ... If I could give one last piece of advice about the big problem on this website, it's primarily <Big Pawn> and his sock puppets who are really a lot of neo-nazi propagandists masquerading as "ordinary Americans". To describe it in terms you would understand from your San Francisco days, they try to spoil every concert like the Hell's Angels (or in this case, Hell's Demons might be more accurate). He's supposed to be an Archie Bunker clown to make Americans look like stupid bigoted fascists>

<TGA: That's flaming. I haven't been writing stuff like that. There is a stark difference between personal attacks from <CHC> and <O'Boogie>, and people speaking out for what is right (me).>

That's the truth, @#$%*@!, so it's definitely nothing like what you've been saying!

<JimNorCal: To tell you the truth I despise <CHC>:

I take that as an encouraging sign. Allow me to take this opportunity to tell you I hate your @#$%* guts, you despicable beetle bureaucrat.

<Big Yawn: CHC has run away with his tail between his legs.>

I've got my cock between my legs which is more than you can say. The only cock you've had between your legs is your highschool janitor's.

I'm not even going to dignify that @#$%*@! JBC with a response but I can tell Winston O'Boogie that if you that mindless twit is worth defending you haven't been reading him very carefully.

Aug-18-18  ChessHigherCat: <Shirley Temple Scumbag Propagandist Pseudo Anarchist:

There CHC has revealed his true nature as a character-assassinating criminal whereas I would never say anything bad about anybody, I'm merely fulfilling my holy mission of protecting my holy saint Big Yawn, because my proctologist told me he's a perfect @#$%*@!.

Aug-18-18  Big Pawn: <chesshomocat: Allow me to take this opportunity to tell you I hate your @#$%* guts, you despicable beetle bureaucrat.>

Libs?

What up with all the hate?

With 22,000 posts in 13 years on this site, you’ll not find one single instance where I said I hated another member. Just for the record. We can clearly see where all the hate is coming from. Are you libs really proud of this?

Well now you can thank <CHC> for relindling the flame war on this page. If you don’t want this to erupt, and I promise it will, you need to get <Chc> under control.

There’s no reason for such hate.

Libs should be ashamed of themselves. Shame on you.

Aug-18-18  Big Pawn: <ChessHigherCat: <Shirley Temple Scumbag Propagandist Pseudo Anarchist: There CHC has revealed his true nature as a character-assassinating criminal whereas I would never say anything bad about anybody, I'm merely fulfilling my holy mission of protecting my holy saint Big Yawn, because my proctologist told me he's a perfect @#$%*@!.>

<CHC> is upset that <TGA> put him in his place and called him out for being the chessgames Antifa. Embarrassed, he somehow want to put <big pawn> behind it all.

lols

Another “crayons up the nose” case.

Total meltdown! (I accept full responsibility for this broken half man)

Let this be a lesson to other weak men who lacked a strong father growing up. If you step into the ring with <big pawn>, you’re going to end up a shivering, sobbing, shameless, sorry, poor, pitiful excuse of a man, in fetal position, crying on your wife’s shoulder, for all the world to see.

Mess with the bull, get the horns!

NEXT!!!

Aug-18-18  ChessHigherCat: Beepy the Blowhard

<Another “crayons up the nose” case.>

More sodomite wish fulfillment metaphors? We all know where you'd like the bull to give you the horns, right in the hemorrhoids!

<

Probably because you're hoping against hope one of them will deign to give you a mercy-f**k, 24/7 joyboy!

<Well now you can thank <CHC> for relindling the flame war on this page. If you don’t want this to erupt, and I promise it will, you need to get <Chc> under control.>

If you haven't figured it out, numbnuts, you can't blackmail anybody here because they can just put you on ignore like the big zero you are :D

Aug-18-18  zanzibar: <Pyke - Well, if patience is needed, patience is what <chessgames.com> will get!>

Should go into the <Memorable Quotes>!

Aug-18-18  zanzibar: Your trouble, <CHC>, is you don't know a good troll when you see one!

WannaBe: I am OK with it, the difference(s) is that posts like those got deleted. Funny how the "mice play when the cat is away", no?

Really shows (you) who are here to troll, and who are here for chess, and to assist the community...

Doesn't it?

Aug-18-18  zanzibar: BTW- where exactly did I advocate directly for banning <BP>?

Search Kibitzing

I don't see any such post by <zanzibar>... instead I do find this:

<<Z> I do have to say that allowing player's to outright ban <CG> users from player pages, rather than just scrubbing individual offending posts, just strikes me as wrong in principle.>

chessgames.com chessforum (kibitz #29095)

But I do see this vile post by <BP> in the search...

<<BP> - Just imaging the site without <Winston>, running around threatening the webmaster, attacking the webmaster, <Zanzibar> who is like a raped woman and can't get over me, looking to ban me, <CHC> attacking everybody the other day - just imagine if all the antifa posters left.>

Kenneth S Rogoff (kibitz #343267)

Let me say this for all to hear - <BP> is an internet coward - and his crap should be dealt with one way or the other.

If he tried spewing crap like that on the street in Boston he wouldn't last two seconds, in Cambridge he might last four seconds, and in Somerville he'd be nothing but a stain on the sidewalk people would have to step over!
