Feb-26-12  Nemesistic: I count 11 of those links on the Fischer v Schweber GOTD on the last page alone!!

Hell, he's even adjusted it to try offend more..

When he posted that link HERE, on this page after a post of mine a few week ago i said i'd let the administrators decide whether he was taking the p@*s, but it appears everyone's noticed..

Well done Andrew..

Feb-26-12  Nemesistic: Make that 13 now!! Out of 25 posts!

WannaBe: < LIFE Master AJ: On a serious note, many years ago, I remember that you talked about implementing a link/viewer that would allow you to move the pieces around on the chess board. (On the screen.) Was anything ever done with that?>

Yes, that is called Deluxe Chess Viewer, which is now in Version 2, Beta stage. It has been in use for the last 3 (?) years or so...

You can change your viewer by using the drop down box that is directly underneath the chess board when you are viewing a game's page.

Feb-26-12  LIFE Master AJ: <WannaBe> Thanks, I had no idea ... (obviously).

I will keep mine as it is ... I don't want to be tempted by the opportunity to move the pieces around. However, it IS nice to know that it is there, in case I decide to use it.

Feb-26-12  TheFocus: <AJ> is always the last one to know.

Also, the last one picked for the team at recess.

Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: Eradication of the handle <LIFE Master AJ> is the answer, quite simply.

jessicafischerqueen: Look to be fair to <AJ> it is not him who spread this fighting to historical games pages. His posts on these pages have always been chess-related first.

And yes, it is chess-related for <AJ> to promote his own analysis, chess web pages, and videos on games pages when they are appropriate to the game in question. This is what he has always done in the past.

If <AJ Detractors> refrain from responding to his chess posts on the games pages with insults, the only problem I'm seeking to ameliorate would almost disappear.

I realize that <AJ> is sensitive and often reacts to chess-related criticism with personal attacks- but let's be honest you guys, all-too often your "chess criticisms" of <AJ's> posts on the <Historical games pages> are thinly-veiled personal attacks as well.

<AJ> I know you posted your Spam Troll link on three games pages yesterday because of a reaction to what I wrote in here. Please don't be provoked by me, I have no stake in this issue beyond keeping flame wars off the historical games pages.

<AJ> and <AJ Detractors>- so far today nobody has brought your endemic war to any of the historical games pages.

This is excellent, all are to be commended. Please, pray this continue so that the rest of us and future visitors can enjoy the historical games pages.

jessicafischerqueen: And this to the <silent majority> of those of you who would like to see this Flame War kept off <historical games pages>.

Now is the time to speak up here, if this is really what you would like to see.

Feb-26-12  dakgootje: <And this to the <silent majority> of those of you who would like to see this Flame War kept off <historical games pages>.>

- I'm a silent minority, and I approve of this message.

Whereas I do not know the solution for this whole dispute - I concur historical games pages are not the place for any of it. So please pick a different spot to throw chairs.

Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: As long as <AJ> believes he can insult others with impunity, chairs will be thrown.

jessicafischerqueen: <Colonel> will you or will you not agree to refrain from personally insulting <AJ'> on the <HISTORICAL GAMES PAGES>?

Will you or will you not refrain from "throwing chairs" on the <HISTORICAL GAMES PAGES>?

If you will not refrain from this behavior, you are not only no better than him- then YOU are also as damaging to this website as he is.

It means you don't give a rat's ass about the website. It means you don't give a rat's ass about the rest of us. Also, as I pointed out previously, the pollution of the historical games pages is not something that can be solved by using the "ignore function."

Your selfishness here is beyond the pale.

<Hayton> I suppose this is more evidence of the attitude- your grossly selfish, and self-indulgent attitude- that got your previous ID account banned?

Your response to my request- which is limited to the <historical games pages>- is in marked contrast to the response of <The Focus>.

To your shame, and to the misfortune of all the rest of us, present and future users of this website.

Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: <jessicafischerqueen:> <Will you or will you not refrain from "throwing chairs" on the <HISTORICAL GAMES PAGES>?>

I'm not aware that I have

As for the rest of your temper tantrum....

  jessicafischerqueen: <Hayton>

All you had to do was say you hadn't engaged in <AJ> flaming on the historical games pages to begin with.

You didn't say that until now. So don't pull this disingenuous rhetorical crap with me, positioning yourself as some kind of injured party, and portraying me as childish. That's a laugh, coming from you of all people.

Your, futile, and ridiculous, 8 year quest to drive <AJ> off of the website has to be accounted for. You not only have not succeeded, the admins actually banned YOUR account, not his.

In addition, your persistent and unrepentant behavior in conducting an 8 year personal war with <AJ> is more than enough in and of itself to correctly label your attitude for what it was, is, and remains: grossly selfish.

Nobody except you is interested in your little campaign, so do all the rest of us a favor and drop it.

jessicafischerqueen: <LIFE Master AJ: I am the only one who has been provoked ... the trolls are the only guilty party here.>

This is also ridiculous. <AJ> you need to account for your inveterate rudeness, and mainly for your willingness to pollute the historical games pages to assuage your own butt-hurtedness.

You are every bit as childish and selfish as <Hayton>, and we are all of us sick to death of your private little war- especially in the past month, when you have been actively complicit in spreading this war to <historical games pages> that are more important than any one, or two, people. They are more important than all of us.

Some of us would like to think these pages will form a long-lasting historical record of analysis and chess history.

So leave them be.

Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: I'm mostly on the Rogoff page. As for chairs being thrown I did not claim that I would be doing the throwing.

Throughout his time here <AJ> has always succeeded in developing a following of bashers. I don't expect this will change.

Can't see where all your anger is coming from in respect of myself.

I don't have a campaign and I don't pretend to be an injured party.

jessicafischerqueen: I emailed <Daniel Freeman> today. He did in fact take strong, coercive action to clean up and tame the <Wesley So> page.

This means it *can* be done with regard to <AJ v the World> spreading to Historical Games pages.

If the website can afford time and money to hire extra help, as they recently did, then they can afford to address this problem.

All it would take would be someone to check- briefly, the list of recent games pages on the front page maybe two times a day and delete, without prejudice, obvious flaming related to this ridiculous vendetta.

Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: <tpstar> <This has been the pattern for the last eight years. The same user demands that our Administrators enforce the Posting Guidelines, then he immediately turns around and violates the Posting Guidelines himself. He doesn't want everybody to follow the rules; he wants everybody else to follow the rules.

Equal and fair enforcement means <LIFE Master AJ> is the first to go. Now.>

Word.

Feb-26-12  Jim Bartle: I think AJ is sinning about "level 1 or 2" and getting hammered back about "level 5." I used to insult him quite a bit until I realized I'd crossed the line.

But let's be honest: Guideline #2 says "no...duplicating posts." AJ must have posted "the link" fifty times by now.

Feb-26-12  Nemesistic: <Chair seeker HQ> I understand why you're wound up regarding the classic game pages, as am i when i pose a question to someone and it gets buried amongst Goldsby induced bickering, but the point i think you're missing is AJ Goldsby has been here 9 years, and wherever he goes an argument ensues.. It CAN'T be anyone elses fault but his! The mans not normal!

If me, or the colonel or whoever else for that matter were to leave right now, would the 'Goldsby situation' come to an end?? Of course not..

If AJ were to leave however.....

I think you should have a word with AJ and ask him to take a month out, i think you'll find everyone will get on just fine.. It has to be worth a try?

I personally think that AJ would try discredit this site via his webpages were he to be banned, and maybe thats why thw administrators are a bit apprehensive, because anywhere else he'd be long gone!

WannaBe: <JB> Duplicate posts are hard to avoid, I've done it for Caissar, people have done it for wishing happy birthday or R.I.P. (to be super technical about it).

The bottom line, to me, is this. Why does <LIFE Master AJ>'s posts bother people so much?

Do people really have nothing better to do than to 'follow' him around and critique every post he makes?

Do people's daily life really 'revolve' around what he posts? Live and let live, don't let these trivial matter bother you. Out of the hundreds of people who posts here regularly, maybe, maybe a handful are engaged in this 'bantering'.

Me, I smile, glance over them, and I go onto the people whose post(s) that I really want to read. (One of the good thing is, he have a picture, your eyes can see, recognize, and pass over it.)

Let the little fish live in their own little 'pond', let them have their 15 minutes of glory. I have better things to do with my time/life than to chase, critique, be bother with something so insignificant.

jessicafischerqueen: <Neme> I seek no chair- I want one thing only. I want the <AJ v the World> kept off the historical games pages.

It's out of control and the admins hold the only solution, if they are willing to put a halt to it.

There is no point reasoning with <AJ> or with the bulk of his detractors, that's certain.

I can't "ask" <AJ> anything, he doesn't listen to me or anyone else.

I have zero power.

What I want is what everyone at the site wants except for <AJ> and the people who are willing to pollute historical games pages, plain and simple.

I have emailed <Daniel>, he will decide what to do, if anything.

jessicafischerqueen: <Wannabe> I'm rather surprised you seem to be missing- entirely, it seems- the main point- the spilling over of the <AJ v the World> war to historical game pages?

Also, <AJ's> spam link bears no relation whatsoever to your "spamming" (advertising) for the Caissars, which had the admins blessing and everyone else's.

<AJ's> spam link, which others use as well, pollutes historical games pages.

jessicafischerqueen: <I have better things to do with my time/life than to chase, critique, be bother with something so insignificant.>

Nobody has ever asked you to do anything of the sort, nor is anyone asking you to do it now.

If you don't see the problem with this garbage spilling out of <AJ's> games pages into historical games pages, that's your opinion. If you think that is insignificant, that's your opinion.

I find it to be a remarkably short sighted and selfish opinion.

Feb-26-12  Nemesistic: Jess it was only a play on your name <Jess eeka FQ> = <Chair seeker HQ>.. Maybe its just my humor, ever since i started loling on a regular basis it's changed.. Lol
Feb-26-12  Colonel Mortimer: <Nemesistic:> <If me, or the colonel or whoever else for that matter were to leave right now, would the 'Goldsby situation' come to an end?? Of course not..>

Which was my original point - I'm amazed not everyone can see this.
