"Gender, Ethnic Studies profs earn about $12k more than peers:
“A new report based on salary data from the 2017-2018 academic year reveals that professors of ‘Area, Ethnic, Cultural, Gender, and Group Studies’ earn almost $12,000 more than the average professor, overall. Notably, professors of subjects like Gender and Ethnic Studies also made about $15,000 more per year than their counterparts in fields like Math, Biology, and the Physical Sciences.” |

<"Blessed is the womb that carried you and the breasts at which you nursed." He replied, <"Rather, blessed are those who hear the word of God and observe it.">> |

Aug-20-18 | | Count Wedgemore: <OhioChessFan: It's my experience that people who are Pro-Choice when it comes to killing babies are Anti-Choice in all other areas.> Yes, quite a paradox, isn't it? But how many liberals (let me digress for a bit: outside the US this term has, in general, totally different connotations than in the US, but since I belong to the non-American minority here on <chessgames>, I adhere to the US definition) have consistently held political attitudes and cultural beliefs anyway? 95% of them are hypocrites, there are very few who have a consistent belief system. Accepting the consequences of one's political stance, and implementing it consistently in all areas, is something extremely rare (I recall that <OCF> made an interesting observation along these same lines a little while ago). But, truth be told, we conservatives often hold inconsistent views as well. Just not as schizophrenic as much of today's political Left. |

<Count Wedgemore> I have to ask- do you have a family castle in Europe amirite. The <New American Stalinism> uses the same litmus test as <original Stalinism>. If there is any point of contradiction in doctrine that you might think would lead to cognitive dissonance, it doesn't actually lead there. All such potential points of cognitive dissonance are simply swept aside by whatever happens to be the <stated doctrine> on each issue. The <stated doctrine> is overdetermined and is always the final answer for any vexing question. Is it ok for local communities in North America to adopt <Sharia Law>? YES IT IS. This is the doctrinal position and it cannot be wavered from. Compared to men, should women have equal rights, equal representation and equal compensation in every single job and every single sphere of human activity? YES THEY SHOULD.
Together, don't those two doctrines contradict each other? NO, THEY DON'T.
In this and all other similar cases, "NO THEY DON'T" becomes an article of <Stalinist doctrine>. It is frankly religious in nature, and it cannot ever be wavered from. The penalty for wavering from this doctrine is banishment from the group, or worse. You can actually see this process in action in this video here, precisely as I have just laid it out: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZH...
Look at the blank expressions, and empty eyes of the zealots as they momentarily "grapple" with the question, before simply returning to the party line and shouting that at the interviewer. |

Aug-20-18 | | Count Wedgemore: <jessica(reallycoolusername)fischerqueen: I have to ask- do you have a family castle in Europe amirite.> No, unfortunately. We used to have a large estate in the countryside, but it's really not the same thing. A castle would have been much cooler! <You can actually see this process in action in this video here, precisely as I have just laid it out:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PZH... Brilliant video. Reveals all the indoctrination and hypocrisy. |

 | | playground player: <jessicafischerqueen> I suppose, if you can't make it to the Sasquatch-hunting grounds, writing <Oy, Rodney> is the next best thing. We don't have Sasquatches here in central NJ, so we have to make do with centaurs. |
