 | | WannaBe: Oh geeze, I've got an ugly woman on my TV set spouting crap! Oh, wait, that's just Hillary talking... about everything, don't think she's got a clue. Wait, she <DOESN'T> have a clue, how can your own husband cheat on your in the White House, amidst all the guards and cameras and you <DON'T> know?? I'm gonna vote for Barry Goldwater this year! |
|
Aug-27-08 | | valiant: <WannaBe: Oh, wait, that's just Hillary talking... about everything, don't think she's got a clue.> I think her tireless work for good health services for people of small means and women's rights are admirable. In my family we love the Clintons. |

 | | WannaBe: Okay, I need some help... I saw <sneaky pete>'s post on Norman Van Lennep (which probably should be written into the bio section, Would someone be kind enough to do so? =) And so I went and tried to read his profile, which is this: <You have nothing to fear but my library. Rudy Kousbroek: Larkensviedje
Die ochtend zei het wrattenzwijn:
Nu moet het afgezopen lijn,
Stijnen helpt geen kweek.
Ja, drerk in plaats van woefenis:
Leven en schrijzen, room voos bis,
De wagen van de deek:
Waandag, Minsdag,
Zoensdag, Wonderdag,
Dijdag, Waterdag, Vrondag.
Zes dagen bijver zijn als nijen,
Op Vrondag vredig liggen zijen,
Dat maakt een woede geek.>
So I went to babelfish and asked for translation. And it came out as this: <That morning said the wart swine: Now the afgezopen line must, Stijnen help no kweek. Yes, drerk instead of woefenis: Life and schrijzen, room dried-out the bis, carriages of the deek: Imagining days, Minsdag, Kissing days, wonder day, thigh day, Waterdag, Vrondag. Six days bijver are as nijen, on Vrondag peaceful zijen, which make an anger geek, lie. > By the way, think I'm gonna nominate him for <Best History> category this year for Caissar. I've been quietly reading the posts, and <sneaky pete> knows a lot! |
|
Aug-28-08 | | sneaky pete: <WannaBe> Babelfish is no match for <really> great poetry. I'm afraid you'll have to learn Dutch to appreciate it. |
|

 | | Stonehenge: <WannaBe> It's not really Dutch. Well, it is but he writes things like 'the ways of the deek' and 'that makes a wood geek' :-0 |
|
Aug-28-08 | | achieve: Dell, Ill be wamned! |

Aug-30-08 | | whiskeyrebel: Yes, he is very cool. Not only did he invent the gambit, he still is working in his home prep lab improving lines. |

 | | WannaBe: <whiskeyrebel> I'm thinking that 3. Ke1 is a great improvement. |
|
Aug-30-08 | | whiskeyrebel: Hey, 3.Qe1 also tickles my fancy. The monarch can find a home at d1 and turn the Queen loose on the e file. I like 1.e4 e5 2. Ke2 Nf6 3. Qe1 Nxe4 Kd1. |
|
Aug-30-08
 | | WannaBe: <whiskeyrebel> Oh my, in spending 69+ years looking at 2. Ke2, I, for some unknown reason, did not examine that line. You, <SIR>, GENIUS! |
|
Aug-30-08 | | whiskeyrebel: I'm merely following your mighty footprints |

 | | WannaBe: Makes you wonder, why the resident didn't do this the first time, and why this time it will be different... http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/gustav_g...
But, don't worry, they'll blame it on Bush anyway. |

 | | WannaBe: Currently, Google Chrome does not work with CG.com, I tried to view the game of the day, and smack in the middle of the browser is a plug-in missing (error) sign. And certain sites that requires adobe flash (which I already have) does not work either, but at least it asks me to download/install it. So I did, and hit refresh, and still doesn't work. Anyway, it's Beta... |

 | | WannaBe: Roberta Flack, original, excellent: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4mpq... Not a bad cover: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4EPa... Just Hilarious, spoof: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84lH... Bonus question: Who is Roberta Flack singing about in the song <Killing Me Softly (With His Song)>? |

Ahoy <WannaMe>,
try the progs at your own risk :) My C:/ partition including OS "vanished" - probably bec of a funny coincident of a light bulb explosion next to my shutting down laptop?! But hey, my old dinosaur here still works like a charm - so lets return to your interesting bonus question:
it was fun revealing the myths around and finally this site shows a well done overview
http://commentditon.blogspot.com/20... (jaja, auf Englisch <nicht> auf Deutsch!). I recommend everyone to exploit the answer alone - many interesting stories can be found. Thx a lot <WannaBe>

 | | WannaBe: <myschkin> Thank you for the blogspot link, very good reads there. Judging from your profile and posts written, you are multi-lingual, and highly educated! (Boy, I'm good, aye? =) I only wish I know what that receipe is... Love to try it out, only if I can understand what I am reading. |
|
Sep-05-08 | | myschkin: . . .
You misjudged my posts a little bit, believe me lol
The reciepe (literally: Sour Lung) is a regional Bavarian dish made of veal lung mainly seasoned with vinegar. I will try to translate in the next couple of days - as always at your own risk!! I think there is a lot of (black) vinegar in traditional Chinese cooking, too. Apart from that Joazi, Mapo Doufu and Hot Pot are my all time favs, but there are so many delicious things around :) |

 | | WannaBe: This is good, on my home e-mail account, I'm getting e-mails on/about my cheating wife (I'm single, don't even have a girlfriend) On my yahoo account, I'm getting e-mails on Wu Yi Tea, Wal-mart awards, and everything else under the sun... Technology, gotta love it. |
|
Sep-08-08 | | Red October: thanks <Wannabe> yes, I like books that deal with historical events or people who significantly influenced history, especially if they are in an annecdotal style |
