WannaBe: <FSR> March 11 is his birthday, and usually PoD is chosen from the birth date of the player. So unless CG.com decides to change the algorithm on how PoD is decided. We will randomly get "undesired" player(s).

  WannaBe: 99%+ loss. Ouch!!

https://www.reddit.com/r/wallstreet...

Feb-26-22  technical draw: <WannaBe> Not being a Spice Girls 90's fan I didn't know they had a song called "wannabe". Could that be the origin of your user name? C'mon admit it, you know it was.

  jessicafischerqueen:

<TD> a rare gaffe on your part!

It was <chancho> who did the deep dive research on the "WannaBe" mystery.

chancho (you may know him better as "Lotsapoppa" or "canyonero") discovered that "WannaBe" got his handle from one of his favorite comic books- "Manatee".

IIRC this comic was about a human who could change into a manatee and be a super hero.

This is why I sometimes call "WannaBe" <ManBee>.

Feb-27-22  technical draw: <jfq> I don't know. Your theory seems a little weak. I know <chancho> and I'm sure he would write the comic book as <Manatí>

I've always wondered why you called him <ManBee>. But we have to get to the source and ask the big W how he got his name.

WannaBe: When I first signed up and needed a moniker, I thought, why am I here on this site? I WannaBe a better chess player.

I ended up being a better punster instead.

<TD>

It's possible that <the big W> is secretly from Hawaii and his full name is <the big Wahuna>?

  jessicafischerqueen:

<the big Wahuna> you're not fooling anyone!

I doubt anyone who won the <Maui Chess Championship and Suckling Pig Roast> 20 years in a row would worry about <WannaBe> a better chess player...

Feb-27-22  technical draw: Another mystery is why is <WannaBe> with a capital B? Maybe his handle identifies as a member of some nefarious organization. Maybe his "Mr. Nice Guy" is just a cover for some devious actions he going to take. I'll have to check and see if his name is actually Wanna Bescovitov.

chancho: Guys, it's really not that much of a mystery.

<WannaBe> is a big fan of Star War movies.

He saw the guy who trained Darth Vader and said:

I <Obi wan to be> just like him!

And that's how WannaBe became WannaBe.

Feb-27-22  technical draw: Nice try <chancho> but I don't buy it. Something tells me it has to do with money. <WannaBe> talks a lot about the stock market. Maybe he <wants to be> another Bernie Madoff.
Feb-27-22  whiteshark: And I always thought his name came from one of the better known songs of the Sugarbabes.

(We all make mistakes.)

Feb-27-22  technical draw: When I first logged in as <technical draw> I thought it was the dumbest name in the world. I wanted to change it but couldn't without making another account. So I was stuck with it. Then someone called me TD and I said yessss! That is cool. So I use TD now. (I still think technical draw is a stupid name.)

<TD> You're not fooling anyone eh...

Here's what really happened: <TD's> first handle at cg.com was <TOUCHDOWN!>. Why, you might ask? An excellent question, and thanks for asking.

Because <TD> is in fact <Bronco Nagurski.>

This scientific article will help explain: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bronk...

<canyonero>

<I <Obi wan to be> just like him!>

heh... that's pretty good. Good and convincing I'd say! I think you're on to something here.

This scientific video will shed light on your theory: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PI_...

chancho: Haha... I think you inspired me to create a handle with that name.

WannaBe: Star Trek Picard Season 2, epi 1:

OMG, OMG, OMG!!! 🖖🖖🖖 Cute inside jokes, (this episode) is written by Michael Chabon (famous author, who also did Star Trek Discovery season 1, which heavily involved in alternate universe)

Both W. Goldberg (Guinan) and J. de Lancy (Q) appeared. I can't wait to see how this season 2 goes.

[It's funny, that both Star Trek Discovery season 4 is approaching the end of this season's story, and have both running at the same time.

Discovery is set at least 3,000 years ahead of Picard and now Star Trek have 2 series, set so many years apart.

Even when Star Trek Discovery was launched, it ran simultaneously with Star Trek Deep Space 9 for a while, but it was pretty much set in the same time frame.]

I had no idea you were an afficianado of the <Star Trek> french fries!

Have you heard about the new launch of <Star Trek Deep Dish Apple Pie 9> series? In this go-round the crew become students at a pastry school.

WannaBe: <JFQ> You sure can be a goofy-silly woman, love that. And I realized that I had a typo in my post last night, it should be Star Trek Voyager, not Discovery.

Voyager's premiere episode took place on DS9 if I remember right, before being tossed into the Delta Quadrant. While chasing the Marquee ship.

<MannBee> you really do know your Star Trek.

Have you seen each episode of every version and every french fries? It may be the biggest french fries in TV/Movie history, bigger than "Marvel" or "Friday 13th" and such...

WannaBe: <JFQ> No, I have not seen every episode, some of the newer ones does not appeal to me. Example: Star Trek Lower Deck, and I have not seen the cartoon from the original series.
