Oct-26-04  ConLaMismaMano: What was black's main mistake?

An Englishman: Good Evening: Black's mistake? Perhaps he didn't use the right fork for the salad course. All joking aside, White probably should have gone into a standard Dutch defense with 5.d4. d3 + e4 simply allowed Black to open the f-file to White's King and turn the Bc8 into a very strong piece. White also turned his own Bg2 into a "big pawn." Then White spent 4 tempi to exchange the Knight for the Be7, which moved only once. When Black recaptured with the Queen, the QR was free to join the festivities on the f-file. Finally, White gave the odds of a rook: the Ra1 never got into the game.

But these are only my opinions. I could be wrong.
