Jan-19-09  Sem: Many moves that I don't understand, but it's always nice to watch a modest master beat a world champion.
Feb-16-12  reilouco: 7.e6!? seems very interesting. Blocking black's black squared bishop allowing dxc5 and b4 with a strong pawn chain.

Penguincw: Always nice to see that upset in classical tournaments.
Aug-03-20  Arlinker: If you don't now wy Botvinnik resigned well after Ne.7check,Bxe.7,Qh.7+,Kf.8,Qh.8+,Bg.8,Qh.6 is checkmate, i don't think there is a way to prevent it,it's a forced line and if black trades queens i think wite is better with a 4 to 2 pawn advantage feel free to show it to your friends at the bar and the library
Aug-03-20  Granny O Doul: I'm not able to reach my friends at the bar or the library just now, but it seems that if Black avoids the Q trade, White will play Nxh6+ and continue to capture things with check for a while. The swap, as you say, likewise looks hopeless for Black. Also, this was likely the adjourned position, so the standard for resignation is lower than normal.

Bishoprick: Arlinker, I'm not sure that the two pawns are enough with Bishops of opposite color. But who am I to question the great Botvinik's judgment?
Dec-25-22  sudoplatov: I went through move 7 through move 30 with the local Stockfish. SF claims that Botvinnik played a few second-best moves around move 20. SF wants ...h5 somewhere and shows a gradual deterioration of Black's position from about -.9 up to 2.00 for White later.

If 41...Qxe4 42.Bxe4 Bg6, White can avoid an opposite-color-bishops ending by 43.Nd6, intending 43...Bxd6 44.cxd6! Be8 45.bxa5 Bd7 46.a6 Bc8 47.a7 Bb7 48.d7, and promotes.
