LoveThatJoker: Tremendous game from the budding WC, Anatoli Karpov!

"29...?" Black to play and win, would make an excellent Thursday puzzle!

Chessical: Rutka (probably Zdenek Rutka) was in last place coming into the final round. He therefore throws all he has at Karpov, who was playing in his first international tournament.

Rutka does not castle, but instead launches a "do or die" pawn storm on the K-side.

Karpov made a slip which could have allowed Rutka to wiggle off the hook.

<27...Qg2> wins as after <28 Rg1> Black has <28...Bxf3!>

With <31.Qg4!> Rutka would have still been in the game.
