Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-02-04  Calli: Strange opening from Keres and steady play from Herr Schmidt. In fact, Keres was only 7-6 lifetime against him according to the Chessgames DB.
Dec-26-06  who: 22...Nxf3+ looks like an improvement.
Dec-26-06  laskereshevsky: hello
"nemo profeta in patria"
Feb-23-07  Gypsy: <who: 22...Nxf3+ looks like an improvement.> Black is in check.
Jul-25-13  jerseybob: Calli: Despite the name, Schmidt was not a German, but Estonian just like Keres.
Jul-26-13  jerseybob: Keres makes a flukey pawn sac early on, but Schmidt grabs the loot and weathers all of Keres' threats, threats that might have sunk a lesser player. Later, he gives back the pawn to eliminate a strong knight, and knifes through black's weakened position. A great performance.
