offramp: I saw this game live. Yawn.
Jun-29-06  RookFile: Boy you can tall that Smyslov wasn't interested in playing this game. He doesn't play 8. Nxd4 with the idea of blockading the isolated d pawn.
Jun-24-07  Brown: Well, Smyslov was up by 2 with 3 games to go. Not a bad idea to keep it quiet. Seems the blame should be on Ribli...

Eric Schiller: I was also there. Smyslov had a choice between Tarrasch and SemiTarrasch formations and chose the former. But a good defense for Black does not make an effective weapon as White.
Jul-16-07  Brown: Seems to support what I'm saying. He's not looking for a "weapon." He's looking for a draw.

offramp: In the Tarrasch Black accepts an IQP, as compo he gets a lot of play.
That makes a load of sense. But why does White <DO THE SAME THING?> Totally voluntarily he <ALSO TAKES ON AN IQP>.

I give up.
