  wwall: 42...cxd4? 43.c5 dxc5 44.d6 wins. If 43...d3, then 44.Kf2 d2 45.Ke2 wins. If 43...Ng6, then 44.Bxg6 Kxg6 45.c6 wins.

44.d6 Ne5 45.Bf5 Kg5 46.d7 Nf7 47.Be6 Nd8 should draw.

Oct-31-05   sitzkrieg: Apparently this draw is forced after 42. d4. This makes for a nice puzzle.

  engmaster: Famous endgame

45)... Kf6 distant opposition
46) ... Kg5 again maintaining opposition
48) ...,Kh4 again giving up the rook pawn for the d pawn. A beautiful stalemate position for black
pawn remaining on a6 is key.
