Eggman: Is there any future in 13.Bxe6 fxe6 14.Ng5 threatening 15.Qxg4 and 15.Nxe6?
Nov-15-03  DWINS: Eggman, that's a really interesting line. It might not be totally sound but it looks like white does get decent compensation.

After 14...Nf6 15.Nxe6 Kf7 16.Nc7 I don't think white can save his rook by 16...Ra7 because of 17.Qb3+

As a matter of fact, white's next move will almost certainly be 17.Qb3+ forcing Black's king to the back rank cutting off the king's rook. The only way to prevent this is to play 16.Nd8 but after 17.Be5 white is threatening to destroy blacks king protection by 18.Bxf6.

The more I look at this the more I like white's game! I have to go to work now and then I have a lot of studying to do for my next exam but I'll try to get back to this soon.

Hats off to you, Eggman. You've come up with a fascinating continuation.

  Chessical: After 13.Bxe6 fxe6 14.Ng5 what about 14...Nge5!? e.g.

15.Bxe5 Nxe5 16.Qd4 Nf7 17.Qxg7 Rf8 18.Nxh7 Qxd6 19.Nxf8 (19.Rfd1 Qe7 20.Nf6+ Kd8 21.Ng8 Qe8 22.Nf6) 19...Qxf8

Or after 14...Nf6 15.Nxe6 Kf7 16.Nc7 Ra7(with the threat of Rxc7)17.Qb3+ Black can play 17...Kg6 and is still in the game
