Nov-25-14  cro777: IM Hannes Langrock (born 1983 in Leipzig) was the finalist of the Dähne Cup in 2002 and 2006. He won the Cup in 2002 and lost in 2006 on tiebreaks.

Dähne Cup (Dähne-Pokal) is the official name for the German cup single championship (Deutsche Pokal-Einzelmeisterschaft) in chess. The winner of the Dähne Cup qualifies itself for the German single championship (Deutsche Einzelmeisterschaft). It is played after the K. O. System.

From February 2007 to February 2008 Langrock wrote the column "From the Sidelines" on the ChessCafe website. "Among other things, he extesively analyzed the rare but respectable English Defense, adding numerous new ideas in the process." (John Watson).

From December 2006 he's been writing (about French Defense) for the Chessbase Magazine as one of the youngest authors.
