Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-09-06  NateDawg: This is one of the worst-played games of chess I have ever seen in a database like this (no offense to Mr. C. Russo) ײַ. After losing his queen to a simple discovered check with 9. ♘xd8+, Black opts not to resign, waiting instead until he manages to seemingly accidentally drop his bishop AND his rook (with a knight or two pawns as compensation).

According to Fritz 9, White has an advantage of (17.36) after Black's 11th move, and a laughable advantage of (26.09) when Black finally resigns. However, White missed a mate in 5 at move 18 (18. ♖xf7+ ♔xf7 19. ♕d7+ ♔g8 20. ♕e6+ ♔g7 21. ♕e7+ ♔g8 22. ♘f6#), but I guess what he played worked too =)

  tpstar: 6 ... Ng4?? is a stock trap in the Sicilian Dragon, losing material to 7. Bb5+ Nc6 (7 ... Bd7/Nd7 8. Qxg4) 8. Nxc6 bxc6 9. Bxc6+ Bd7 10. Bxa8 Qxa8 and White is up the exchange plus a Pawn.
