Nov-06-04  sourcerer: the mating combination is exellent!!the famed racking bishops!!
Nov-06-04  patzer2: 41. Kg2 Rg1#
Nov-06-04  kevin86: A quick mating trap-comes from the blue.
Nov-06-04  Knight13: Very nice mating net! The bishop sacrifice did really work! And a very good game too!
Nov-06-04  PAWNTOEFOUR: while playin over this game,it looked to me that white had the initiative....wow,what a surprise!!!!
Nov-06-04  poktirity: Wonder how many times B Mate has heard this pun...
Nov-06-04  zugzwangdragon: Way to smash the Exchange Variation wimp!
Nov-06-04  derbyc: <Wonder how many times B Mate has heard this pun...> Perhaps never, because Máté (this is the correct spelling of his name in Hungarian) is an ordinary Christian name, while checkmate is called sakk-matt. They do not sound similar at all.

tamar: Always check, it might B Mate
Nov-06-04  Knight13: Always resigned, but it might B Mate as well.
Nov-07-04  patzer2: If White had played 38. Re2 to prevent the mate with 38...Rf2+, then Black could have won after 38. Re2 Ba6! 39. Rd2 Bf1+! 40. Kh1 Bd3!!
Nov-07-04  patzer2: Black's 37...Rf6!! is a decisive blow.
Nov-07-04  mack: <Perhaps never, because Máté (this is the correct spelling of his name in Hungarian) is an ordinary Christian name, while checkmate is called sakk-matt. They do not sound similar at all.> Way to ruin our fun.
Apr-30-05  chessboyhaha: Black's play was wrong! Instead Re8 should be Tal's Rd7! but after the textual White reply to c6 was completely wrong. Instead dxc6 the best was Bc4 and after cxd5 Bxd5 covering the d4-square.Someone to coment my line of play? Or contest it?

samvega: It makes for easier reading if you number your moves...

I think both 9..Re8 and 12.dc are reasonable moves, as are the alternatives you suggested. After 12.Bc4, ..b5 and ..Bb7 look ok for black.

May-01-05  chessboyhaha: samvega after 12...b5 13.Bb3 Bb7 I've played (with white) 14.Rd1(continous with the same idea here: cover d4-square with a piece). And sorry I was wrong that 9...Rd7 was better than 9...Re8.
May-01-05  chessboyhaha: Do you have any ideas samvega?
May-06-05  chessboyhaha: Someone have a idea of play after 14.Rd1?
