Kibitzer's Corner
Jun-30-04  kevin86: This must be in error-or a time forfeiture. White is a knight down and on the ropes (in both senses).

Sneaky: It's probably a loss on time, but I would think this is the kind of position where you could get a tournament director to adjudicate it as a draw.
Dec-09-04  who: 59...Qf5+ 60.Kg6 (Kh7 Qf5+ 61.Kh6 Qg5+ 62.Kh7 Qh5+ 63.Kg8 Qg6+ 64.Qg7 Qxg7#) Qe4+ 61.Kf7 Ng5+ 62.Kg7 Qe5+ 63.Kg8 Qe8+ 64.Kg7 Ne6+ 65.Kh7 Qh5+ 66.Kg8 Qg6+ 67.Qg7 Qxg7# This would make for a great black to play and win.
<Chessgames.com> We should have an endgame week.
Dec-10-05  sucaba: In move 51, Black has a #14.

63. _ ♘d4 is a #8.

64. _ ♘d4? =, Black could win with any reasonable ♕ check, though to make a progress, would have to repeat moves with 64. ♕e8+ ♔g7 65. _ ♘d4.

66. ♔g7? #7, better 66. ♔h7! =.

Black could #12 with the only move 68. _ ♕f4+!.
So <who>, I guess your lines should start with "68. _ ♕f4+ 69. ♔g6(♔h7...".

TheAlchemist: "Scacco" means "check" in Italian.
Nov-14-06  Prugno: Since people seem to be taking the analysis of this game seriously and have even plugged on their tablebases, it seems fair to point out that this was an ONLINE BLITZ EVENT (reserved for Italian players, I was taking part too)! In fact I wonder how this little 5 0 joke made it into a restricted database like Chessgames.com.
Jun-30-09  WhiteRook48: playing against someone called "check"
Sep-14-12  kevin86: If any time forfeiture should be adjudicated a draw it is this one:Not only is black ahead in material, but he could FORCE a draw in one move:Qg7+
