Jul-06-07  ahmadov: To the attention of <Karpova> and <whiteshark>:

I have just played a similar game on gameknot.com... This time as the Black side LOL

Jul-07-07  Karpova: But now you can claim to play as good as <A Tofe Mata> ;-)

A Zapata vs Anand, 1988

Jul-07-07  Zzyw: Black can't recapture because of 8.♕xf7#, but his real blunder is to resign: 7...O-O! leaves him with a playable position as white cannot hang on to the extra piece. For instance 8. Bc1? Nb4 9.Qd1 c2 and black is winning. Best seems 8.♗xg7 ♔xg7 9.♘xc3 where black looks terrible but is actually quite safe, has the bishop pair and he'll complete his development quickly with 9...d6. Another try would be 8.♘xc3 gxh6 9.♕h5 d6 but this is also far from winning.
Jul-09-07  ahmadov: <Karpova: But now you can claim to play as good as <A Tofe Mata> ;-)> If you compared me with Anand, that would be more soothing... :)
Dec-06-07  whiteshark: LOL <ahmadov> Hunting after clue #21 (<Russian, Female, and Short> to deliver it to posterity) I stranded here. Why ? I can't recall. Wait, I came from Anna Ushenina

:D
