Kibitzer's Corner
Dec-25-12  Abdel Irada: On a Christmas that has brought us two Karels, why not two Hernandezes as well?

But what did Jose *think* Roman was going to do after 31. ...Rf8, anyway? Did he really hope White would miss the interposition and lose his queen? I can only assume so, because otherwise he might simply have resigned a move earlier.

Dec-25-12  Abdel Irada: This opening is not unfamiliar. In blitz, at least, Santa Cruz master Gjon Feinstein is fond of this gambit, reaching it by transposition from the Philidor after 1. e4, e5; 2. Nf3, d6; 3. d4, Bg4?!; 4. dxe5, Nd7!?.

In principle, White gets an advantage here. But it is proverbial that in blitz anything can happen, so Feinstein sometimes gets a strong initiative with his piece activity.

Jul-05-21  magic1949: 6? Qe7?! 7 Nd4! Bxe2 (not 7?.Qxe4? 8f3!) 8 Qxe2 Ngf6 9f3 and White is much better.)

8?Nxe4?? A blunder 9 Nxe4 Qxe4 10 f3 wins a piece
