Jul-27-20  sea7kenp: After 24 Kxe2 comes 24 ... c4, and the Rook on d3 has nowhere to go.
Jul-27-20  syracrophy: After 24. Kxe2 Re8+ first, so then 25...c4 wins material. The direct 24...c4 25. Re3 Bxe3+ only recovers the exchange.

FSR: 5...Qg5! 6.Nxc6 Qxb5! 7.Nd4 Qg5 is pretty much game over already. The Ponziani is junk, but White should play 4.Qa4 or 4.d3 rather than 4.Bb5?

  perfidious: <FSR>, the improvement you offer reminds me of a line I once faced vs a 2350 player: 1.e4 e6 2.Nf3 c5 3.Nc3 Nc6 4.Bb5 Nd4 5.Nxd4 cxd4 6.Ne2 Qg5, only the version arising in the Ponziani is even worse than my opponent's play.
