Maxim Dlugy: Perhaps 22. Bf4 was a better try than c4. Turning into the toughest match of all.
May-31-07  Chlipchlop: Well, it looks good too.

I'm wondering why 25. dxe6 and not 25. Rxe6. It looks fine and simple. :/

Jun-01-07  einneu: At first glance I thought 25.Rxe6 wins because of 26.Bxh6! But black replies 25....Re8! Still it's a better alternative for white. As Fritz 'pointed out' Gelfand lost a chance not playing 26....Bb4! and e6 is lost because if the rook leaves the 1st line black has deadly threats. For example 27.Re2 f4! 28.Qe4 Rd8 or even 28....f3!

You're right. I haven't seen the active 25. ... Re8 ! and it looks dead draw.
