Kibitzer's Corner
Sep-16-07  orio24: Very nice game, surprised there is no comment.

Isn't there any improvement in Grischuk attack?

Sep-16-07  percyblakeney: <Isn't there any improvement in Grischuk attack?>

If Grischuk hadn't been in bad time trouble he could have played 28. Qh6 and Aronian would have been in lots of trouble, Qd2 seems forced because of the Rh4 threat. Then 29. f4 and Rh4 is again a threat. If this isn't just winning for white with best play it is at least very uncomfortable for black.

Sep-16-07  Ezzy: White was short of time and misses the decisive: [28.Qh6 Qd2 29.f4 exf4 30.Rh4 Qxg2+ 31.Kxg2 Nxh4+ 32.Kf2 Rd2+ 33.Re2 Rxe2+ 34.Kxe2 Nxf5 35.Qxf6+ Ng7 36.Qxf7 wins for white.]

A let off for Aronian who is is not playing too well here in Mexico.

Sep-16-07  DUS: This game Aronian played in attacking style playing blacks. He was close to victory. Chesspro.ru commentator said many good words for him.

Of course, Grischuk played very good as well. Grischuk's todays game against Kramnik is equal to a victory, I think.

Sep-17-07  XMarxT3hSpot: If there is a player who was close to victory, it should be Grischuk.

Pls read the line <Ezzy> posted.

Sep-17-07  DUS: The time is important in chess too. Even you have an extra queen but no time, you will get only 0 points for the game. Grischuk didn't have time in that game. Aronian himself said, if Grischuk had time he could have won the game. But simply there was no time. To figure out the line of <Ezzy> you need time.
