Kibitzer's Corner
Apr-13-08  ToTheDeath: One of the strangest games I've seen on CG.com.

5. Na5 is just a little too cute, Kogan must like playing crap to throw his opponents off.

The irony is he actually managed to get a pretty nice position, where the b2 bishop prevented Black from developing smoothly. Except that he went astray with the misguided 24.Nxf7? when 24.Rxh5! Rxh5 25.Nxd7 Qxd7 26. Bxf6 wins a piece.

Perhaps he overlooked that on 26. e4 Rxh5 27.Bxf6 Black has 27...Rf5! winning.

Nov-28-08  dRr0x0rZZ: I think it's a pretty legitimate opening. Black always has a lot of problems to solve in this line.
Nov-17-09  kooley782: Interesting, to say the least.
Jul-26-10  DanCruzNYC: Love this game! One of my favorite of all time.
Sep-18-10  jmactas: this was weird
Dec-05-12  Everett: I've played exactly this way in casual games with 5.Na5 and 6.b4. First time I'm seeing another game with it.

It is true that the Bb2 and Qc2 hamper Black's development, though I imagine with perfect play it is not enough. Still, it creates rather comfortable development for White.

11.g5 needs more tests, and is an aggressive try I had not considered before.
