Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-20-08  lost in space: Interesting game.

The final position is better for white, but I think it is a bit to early to resign.

15... Bh6+? 16. f4 Rhg8 17. Nf5+ Kf8 Nxf6 and the position is clearly won for white

But 15...Ke8 is less clear and worth the be tried: 16. Nxc6 bxc6 17. f4 Rd8 18. f5 Bh6+ 19. Kb1 Rxd1+ 20. Rxd1 Ke7 21. f6+ Ke8 22. g4 Rg8 23.h3 Rg5 24. c4 Bf8 25. b4

Feb-13-09  YoungEd: Hi, <lost in space>-- You might be right, but I can see why Black would be discouraged. A pawn down, remaining pawn structure fragmented, king in center--not a lot to brag about. The move 10. ...♕c5 seemed to be looking for a draw but instead just lost a pawn; that might have taken the starch out of Black.
Mar-13-11  najdorfBAS: Black has no good moves, and White threatens immediate mate with 16.Nf5+ and 17. Nf6.

15...Rd8 doesn't stop the mate
15...Bd5 can be met by 16.c4 with the same Nf5/ Nf6 mating pattern. 15...f7 is met by 16. Re6+
15...Bh6+ deals with the mate threat but after 16.Kb1 Kf8 (not 16...Bg2? 17. Nf5+ wins a Bishop)17.Nc6 bc6 18. Rd7 White's position looks very nice.

"GM Yuri Aleksandrovich Kuzubov earned the title in 2004, becoming the second-youngest GM in the world at the time."

Chessbase article says "Yuriy Kuzubov completed his final norm at the age of and at 14 years, 7 months, 12 days, making him the second youngest grandmaster in the world today. Magnus Carlsen is over ten months younger, while Yuriy's club mate Sergey Karjakin is two weeks older. Karjakin holds the record for becoming the youngest GM in history, having made his final norm at the age of 12 years, 7 months, 0 days."

Aug-05-24  Voice without Words: At the move 9th black's Qb6 was already +2 for Magnus tho
