Peligroso Patzer: Apparently Black lost on time.

Too bad for her that she did not anticipate the risk and exchange Rooks when she had the chance at moves 67-69. She can at least console herself that the position was never theoretically "- +" after it became pawnless R vs. R+B (i.e., White always maintained a theoretically drawn position).

Not very surprisingly, this is currently the only game in the CG games database in which the weaker side gains the full point in this ending. (Approximately 40% of the time, the stronger side wins: Endgame Explorer: RB vs R.)

FSR: Walter Browne in his recently published autobiography relates that he once won the inferior side of this endgame (on time, not surprisingly) against FM Andrew Karklins. It was a sudden-death time control.
Jan-23-14  fishcat: <after it became pawnless R vs. R+B> Hm, yes.. but 62.g4 lost, and 64...Rg2 drew; best was 64...Rf4, with 6 other winning moves.
