An Englishman: Good Evening: Do you like Exchange sacs in the Sicilian? Here's an excellent one from Boris Spassky. Unless I'm missing something here, this game is one of his lesser-known classics.

tamar: Suetin tries for many moves to conserve his material advantage, but the board gradually shrinks as the pawns and bishops descend inexorably like the blade of the French Inquisition in 'The Pit and the Pendulum'.

23 Rxf6 Bxf6 24 Rxd7 Rxc2 25 Kf1 Rxb2 26 Nc5 a5 was a safer imbalance for White, and he should be able to draw.

Apr-05-15  A.T PhoneHome: ...f3 will be destructive in this position. Spassky would create passed g-pawn here and queening square is protected by Black's King's Bishop (if that's the idea here).
Oct-28-17  edubueno: Suetin jugó mal en buena posición. Debió seguir la idea de Tamar 23 Txf6
Jul-03-22  ndg2: <tamar><..like the blade of the French inquisition...>Wasn't it the Spanish inquisition? But ok, no one expects the Spanish inquisition.
