  ketchuplover: Game of the century!
Dec-14-08  whiteshark: No exaggeration, please! :D
Dec-14-08  whiteshark: 15 out of 27 half moves were ♘moves. Thus the meaning of <workhorses>, me thinks.

Dec-14-08  belgradegambit: And Kasim was actually World Champion at one time. People won't be able to figure that out 100 years from now.
Dec-15-08  brankat: These are "Super-GMs"? A disgrace.

Open Defence: There's a new Sherrif in town and he's quicker on the draw

Suggested Pun:

"Quick Draw Bacrot"

Dec-15-08  brankat: <Open Defence> And I had bet 100 chessbucks on Bacrot (+ 2 more players, one of them being Kasimdzhamov) to win the tournament :-)
Dec-26-08  acirce: I like very much to see the players finding ways to bypass the silly draw-discouraging rules.

Doesn't mean I like the game itself - two separate things. But there are so many interesting games anyway to make that a complete non-issue.

Dec-26-08  slomarko: <acirce: I like very much to see the players finding ways to bypass the silly draw-discouraging rules.>

instead of condamning their inventive thurst for short draws <acirce> applauds it. what an %$%&$%&.

Dec-27-08  Akavall: <I like very much to see the players finding ways to bypass the silly draw-discouraging rules.>

I think the 12th round has really underlined how indeed silly those rules are.

Dec-27-08  Octal: Kasimdzhanov played the Dragon; do you really think he was playing for a 14 move draw? If anything, White played for the draw by selecting the fianchetto system.
