Kibitzer's Corner
Jul-27-09  Don Cossacks: This game cost Malakhov of the first place and settled for the bronze.
Jul-28-09  piteira8: Tough spot for Malakhov, who always fights hard. Avrukh prevailed after a tough fight.
Jul-28-09  luzhin: Admirably controlled play by Avrukh in a critical last round game. Of course, if 32...Kf8 then 33.Rh8+! Bxh8 34.Qh6+ Bg7 35.Rxf6+. The switch of the Rook to the b-file is a most elegant conclusion: if 36...Qa7 then 37.Qg6 c5 38.Rb8+! reveals the point, with mate in a further five moves.
Jul-28-09  whiteshark: Black was helpless against the White's whitesquared bishop.
