HeMateMe: Its easy to forget how good a player Shabalov is; he kind of flys under the radar. But, he is a 4 time US champion, you have to be talented and steady to win the USA closed 4 times.
Dec-03-09  belgradegambit: For decades 12...e5 was by far the most common response. After all, it was thought that the last thing Black wants is to trade his dragon bishop. But lately at the top level there seems to be a move away from 12...e5 to NxN L Dominguez vs D Smerdon, 2009 and BxB. Note here that 14 Nxd5 cxd5 15 Qxd5 Be6 16 Qb5 Qc7 17 Qa4 Rab8 and Black has excellent prospects for the pawn.
Nov-10-10  iking: nice ending!
