tamar: Timofeev is becoming a specialist in these wall of pawns games. A Timofeev vs D Khismatullin, 2009 was one of the outstanding games from last year.

23 Na7 is a particularly striking move, because unless you see 25 Nc6! the knight looks emtombed.

An Englishman: Good Evening: Had a feeling this would turn into a "peasants v. nobles" struggle, although Timofeev couldn't possibly have seen the entire variation.
Feb-10-24  mel gibson: I didn't know.

Stockfish 16 chooses a different ply:

25. g3

(25. g3 (1.g3 Nc7 2.Qa2 Nf6 3.Bf3 f4 4.gxf4 Nfe8 5.Qc4 Bb2 6.Rc2 Bg7 7.Bg4 Kh8 8.h3 Rg8 9.Kh1 Rf8 10.Nc8 Nb5 11.Rc1 Bb2 12.Qe4 Ng7 13.Rc2 Bc3 14.Na7 Nxa7 ) +3.74/44 495)

score for White +3.74 depth 44.

If I force SF to choose the game ply -
it's the same strength:
