Kibitzer's Corner
Mar-24-11  ReikiMaster: 28...Bb6 looks interesting.
Feb-20-15  patzer2: Black's first significant error was 16...Ne5?

Instead, he had to try 16... Nf8! when play might continue 17. Rfe1 b5 18. Nd2 Bd7 19. g4 g6 20. N4f3 Be7 21. c4 Rad8 22. Kg2 c5 23. Kg3 gxf5 24. exf5 Bd6+ =.

Instead of 17...+ Rxe5, Black can try 17... fxe5!?

After 17...fxe5!?, Fritz 12 indicates White gets a near decisive grip on the position with 18. Nf3 when play might continue 18...Bd6 19. c4 b6 20. g4 h6 21. Kg2 a5 22. a4 Bb7 23. Bc3 c5 24. Rfe1 g6 25. Nh4 g5 26. Ng6 Kf6 27. Kf3 Rg8 28. Rd2 Rad8 29. Red1 Rge8 30. Rh2 Rg8 31. Ke3 Bc6 32. h4 gxh4 33. Rxh4 + -.

Black could have put up more resistance with 27...Bd6 or 28...Bb6 . However, holding the draw an exchange down against a higher rated super GM would have been extremely difficult to impossible.
