tamar: The Armageddon game. Even so, what miscalculation could have persuaded Ponomariov to open the position with 25...exf4

I think he saw up to 27...Qg7, but started looking pained after 28 Rxd6

Aug-17-13  luzhin: Yes, Pono clearly missed 28.Rxd6! But 25...exf4 was not bad, if Black had met 26.Qc3 with Re5. Then after the forced line 27.exf4 Na4 28.Qd4 Nxb2 29.fxe5 Nxd1 30.exd6 Nc3! 31.Bf3 Qb8 32.Qxc3 Bxd6 it looks roughly equal.

"Black's position is smellier that some of my socks."

Aug-17-13  Strongest Force: The pawns were the heroes. They always are. They never get credit. The greatest pawn move was 1.b3!
Aug-17-13  Thanh Phan: Nice game by Dubov.
