Dr. Michael Negele is a chemist, author, chess historian and player from Trier (Germany).

Seit dem 14.Lebensjahr ein Schachmensch aus Begeisterung, welche, stets unter großzügiger Duldung durch die Ehefrau, bis zum heutigen Tage unvermindert anhält. Mittlerweile ist eine als kleine Arbeitsbibliothek angelegte Sammlung von Schachbüchern auf fast 9500 Bände angewachsen und das Engagement erweiterte sich um das Zusammentragen von Beiträgen mit schachgeschichtlichem Hintergrund für die Zeitschriften Kaissiber, KARL und SCHACH. Mit Gleichgesinnten aus aller Welt erfolgte Ende 2003 die Gründung der Ken Whyld Association zur Pflege und Dokumentation der Schachliteratur.
