 | | AylerKupp: <kutztown46> Wow! Talk about being an MDOP! You must have had a lot of excess time on your hands. I sure hope that your bridge playing didn't suffer. Of course, I couldn't resist so I loaded much of your data into a spreadsheet and got some interesting statistics (well, interesting for me, at least). Here are some of them: Total time Stockfish spent analyzing = 542 hours
Average calculation time per ply = 10.2 hours
Average search depth = 33.6 plies/move
Percent of the time the team played Stockfish's top move: Team White = 80.8%
Team Black = 53.0%
So it looks like Team White was much more Stockfish-agreeable than Team Black. I also plotted the average engine evaluation and Stockfish's evaluation per move. Stockfish was more bullish on White's chances towards the end (move 31 onwards) than the average engine evaluations, [+0.61] to [+0.21] although it had dropped its evaluation after 36.Kc3 to [+0.30] vs. the average engine evaluation of [-0.17]. Yes, the average engine evaluations went negative starting with 35.c4. That certainly didn't discourage me from offering a draw! I can email you the spreadsheet if you're curious since I'm having trouble with my MediaFire account at the moment and can't post it. |

 | | kutztown46: <AK> Doing this type of work is not that time consuming. I set up the position and let it run on the spare computer while I do other things. Then I save the analysis, make the next move, and repeat the process. About 2 minutes suffices per move. The time consuming part was copying, pasting, and posting all of it. That took about an hour. |

 | | offramp: Did these teams play a second game with swapped colours? |
|
Dec-26-13 | | hms123: <offramp>
Basically, yes.
Team White If you look at the kibitzing you can see that the rosters switched colors from game to game. While the games were in progress the team rosters were available, but no longer it seems. |

Rc5 is played. However, after 35...RC5 is played, again at 50 ply, the machine drops the eval. to .30. The first deviation between the two lines is only one move later at black's 36th move: f6 before Rc5 is played and g6 after it is played. One ply changes everything. |
