Domdaniel: <Karpova> - <Incubi attack women while Succubi are their equivalent for male human-beings.> Oh, that was the Middle Ages, These days you get transgendered incusuccubi, bi-succubi, incuvestites, the works. And some very confused possessees.
Nov-22-06  mack: <Archives>

Your portrayal of this place as on-running soap is an all too accurate one. I hope <Domdaniel> doesn't realise that his son is not his at all, and that his wife was having an affair with <twinlark> (my brother) who was meant to be getting married to <Cecil Brown> (who got cold feet). And where's the local shopkeeper, <tpstar>, gone? <jepflast> thinks that <whiteshark> (my brother) killed him, but <OhioChessFan> knows different. Or does he? And what ever will happen when <Thorsson> - my brother who faked his own death last year to avoid paying off his huge gambling debt to <Rookfile> (who's having an affair with <ray keene> AND <Archives> - finds out about <Willem Wallekers> little deal with my brother -in-law, <technical draw>? All this and much more, tomorrow...

Nov-22-06  Boomie: One nice thing about h3, besides the fact that it leads to a (hopefully) won endgame, is there is no way GMAN expected it. It must have come as a complete surprise to him. All the analysis he has on Qd3, fxg6, etc. now has to be thrown out. We all know how that feels. cf Rec8.

JointheArmy: <Boomie> LMAO. And you know this how?
Nov-22-06  Boomie: <JoinTheArmy> Just guessing. How could he expect us to vote for such a subtle move? As for the endgame, that comes from days of seemingly endless analysis of h3.
Nov-22-06  chesstoplay: Domdaniel ... Nickel may not move soon with the long Thanksgiving weekend upon us. I'd be thrilled to see him take his time so we can all regroup from the next 36 hours of meals and familes. His long slow move here would be to our advantage to work on our next move once we have his concrete idea before us.
Nov-22-06  Boomie: <chesstoplay> If I were AN, I'd play the next move tomorrow morning to take advantage of all the World players who are on holiday. We should probably get the forums set up soon in case he uses this time gambit.

JointheArmy: <Boomie> Nickel does not analyze like the World does. He follows plans and objectives then double checks his work on a computer. That's what I've read from his interviews on chessbase at least. So I doubt h3 is as big of a shock to him as Qd2!? was, but you never no.

Domdaniel: <mack> Brilliant, brilliant. Or was that the sound of 37 pseudonymous chess obsessives who don't know a Shoap from a Schliemann reaching for their Shilencers...? Shurely Shome Shyte.
Nov-22-06  Nightranger: <mack> Didn't you used to write for some of these soaps? :)

<chesstoplay> If I were AN, I would be moving tomorrow if I was satisfied with my move, holdiay or not. He could already have a move posted for all we know.

<JointheArmy> Now I'm going to somewhat, semi contradict my previous statement with: h3 may not have surprised AN as much as Qd2... either time, but my gut feeling is that it was a surprise nonetheless. (Is this really one word?)

<Domdaniel> What can I say? Your posts seem to cover a very broad spectrum. Sometimes even on the same page.

I think you've read too many thesauruses... thesauri? And let the modern age twist the words, probably with a little of your help. (A lot of your help?) :)

Nov-22-06  Nightranger: Time to check on Rybka.

Domdaniel: <chesstoplay> GMAN may have no idea about Thanksgiving. It's not big in Germany. I asked several (non-American) people recently if they knew when it was. Most guessed November, but nobody knew for sure.

Nov-22-06  Boomie: Plus the contributions of American patzers such as myself has been negligible anyway.
Nov-22-06  Nightranger: <Boomie: Plus the contributions of American patzers such as myself has been negligible anyway.>

Negligible to what? I surprised you didn't make the soap.

Well, maybe a walk on for the next episode.

Domdaniel: <Well, maybe a walk on for the next episode.> There's always a <boomie> sound when somebody gets shot, right after the <doomie> music and before the <zoomie> camera close-up...
Nov-23-06  RandomVisitor: If Nickel plays 28...Bg7 tomorrow, then we will have to choose between 29.Kh2 and 29.Qd3. It will be a close call. Just a heads up so that we don't get caught napping.
Nov-23-06  Artar1: <GufeldStudent: Due to intolerable insults aimed against me, I will no longer contribute to this game. I will be contacting the management since I believe I have behaved within the guidelines but those insulting me have clearly violated them. I have personal experience with suicide that frankly makes my opinion and experience more valid than any of yours.>

May I ask what is going on?

WannaBe: <Artar1> Long story, some of it took place on the Jessie Gilbert page...
Nov-23-06  Archives: <May I ask what is going on?>

Some shepherds sang, a star appeared in the sky, and a child was born.

Oh wait, nevermind, I'm thinking of Christmas day.

Nov-23-06  Artar1: <WannaBe: Artar1 Long story, some of it took place on the Jessie Gilbert page...>

I read all those pages. I understand.

Nov-23-06  Artar1: Domdaniel:

If you need someone to host a forum that attempts to answer basic questions why a certain move is preferable over another, I would be willing to do that.

Nov-23-06  Topocalypse: <GufeldStudent> I find it ironic that you're quitting to avoid further suffering!
Nov-23-06  jepflast: <RandomVisitor: If Nickel plays 28...Bg7 tomorrow, then we will have to choose between 29.Kh2 and 29.Qd3. It will be a close call. Just a heads up so that we don't get caught napping.>

No way. 29. R1f2, in most cases followed by Kh2, is the clear choice. If you haven't looked at this, start looking.

Nov-23-06  Nightranger: <<GufeldStudent> I find it ironic that you're quitting to avoid further suffering!>

Regardless of whether or not this is on point, I don't think it is helpful.

Nov-23-06  jepflast: <No way. 29. R1f2, in most cases followed by Kh2, is the clear choice. If you haven't looked at this, start looking.>

Let me amend this by saying that 29. Kh2 will transpose in many cases, but Qd3 is clearly not as good.
