Jun-17-13  notyetagm: Humpy is playing, so I am happy. Her games are always nice and tactical.
Jun-18-13  dwadefoley: I particularly enjoy the games of Nana Dzagnidze and Elina Danielian. They are both such aggressive, tactical players! Dzagnidze is unafraid to take risks, and produces some wonderful games. Danielian obliterated Georg Meier with a sacrificial kingside attack at the European individual champs: E Danielian vs G Meier, 2013

<On move 36 white blundered with Ne3 and the winner of the 1st tournament of the Women's Grand Prix could play 36...Qd8. Rook has nowhere to go. Khotenashvili missed this opportunity, but this wasn't the end of her bad luck today>

Jun-28-13  shaikriyaz: Damn! This is one of the top women's tournament and only one page of kibitzing. No one cares about women's chess!
Jun-28-13  notyetagm: Humpy just won the tournament by a clear point!!

The Geneva Grand Prix got more attention. The Tal Memorial overshadowed this one.

Jun-28-13  notyetagm: Wow, how did Khotenashvili go from winning the last GP event to finishing dead last in this one?

FIDE Women's GP Geneva, 1st => Women Grand Prix Geneva (2013)/Bela Khotenashvili

FIDE Women's GP Dilijian, 12th => FIDE Women's Grand Prix Dilijan (2013)/Bela Khotenashvili

Jun-28-13  Nerwal: <Wow, how did Khotenashvili go from winning the last GP event to finishing dead last in this one?>

In Geneva she played attacking games and it worked. In this last tournament she missed about every single opportunity she had, starting with the game with T. Kosintseva.

Oh yes, the famous 36 ♘g4-e3?? game.

T Kosintseva vs B Khotenashvili, 2013

See my comments on that game's forum or above on this page to see how Khotenashvili missed a winning position by <TRAPPING> an offside piece.

Jun-28-13  niemzo: @notyetagm: It's called regression to the mean.
Jun-30-13  waustad: Anna Ushenina is now 2500.0 elo on the live list. http://www.2700chess.com/women
